Question Servers

I haven't really read/heard much about servers apart from that they will be in clusters - i assume that means they'll be used like render farms (ie. several plus servers acting as one "super computer"). However i've heard some say that they will be used seperate for each instance of the game. This would mean loading screens wouldn't it? to jump from one server to another?

Either way, getting to the big question, i know that on the official site it says that the game will be serviced in North America, Europe & Asia. Has anyone heard anything about a server popping up in Oceania? I know there's more than enough of a playerbase to fill at least 2 servers at any time.

I've my fingers crossed if they do decide to open it up down here because as most of us know, in twich fps's ping is everything (almost).

Nothing on Oceania yet. If there's enough interest from those regions for subscriptions I imagine they'll open one up for it. Til then you're stuck with NA and Asia probably.

As for the servers, yes, they will be dealing with instances per server or cluster. They've got a system set up for streaming load times so there's no pauses or load screens. You hop on a tram to take you to the battleground instance and you can move around and do whatever while it moves and you load the battleground. They haven't given much in the way of technical info on it, but they have said there are no load screens once you get ingame.

Yeah sorry man, all they have shown so far is the three major countries listed above for releases... hopefully if those are the first to start it, other places in the world can join in shortly after release.

All Unreal 3 engine games will likely take advantage of its ability to eliminate loading screens.

Basically it just lets you insert something in between areas while it's streaming the loading... Unreal 1 even had something similar on a VERY basic level (let you run around in a prison cell while loading). Anyone who remembers MDK can get an idea of what to expect: you'll be doing something as a sort of in-between, while the next area loads in the background. My question is, if you have multiple people on 1 transport, it WILL take 1 person longer to load than another... will everyone just basically have to wait on that person with less RAM, or what?

That's basically a rhetorical question by the way
