Default Question about Huxleys in game performance.

Hey there, just registered and am totally psyched about Huxley, but I have a few questions I'm hoping you guys can help me out with. I'm a big fan of MMOFPS, I come from PlanetSide, the first and only MMOFPS out there atm. Because PlanetSide was the first, theres some major flaws for instance players warping all over the place, bouncing up through ceilings, down through floors, sideways through walls. Sometimes a door will open on your enemies screen but not on yours so he can shoot you and you can't return fire, stupid things like this that just kind of suck. Now in the PlanetSide forums it's been discussed that this warping and other issues are caused due to poor netcoding. What this whole post basically boils down to is this - am I going to be dealing with the same netcoding crap that causes major warping and lagging in Huxley as I did in PS? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Considering that Huxley is a highly anticipated 360 game, it probably won't have any major bugs. Every game has some things that are buggy though, but you likely expect updates to deal with that.

webzen seems to have some pretty decent netcode, so i'm not to worried about things like that. Also, since this isnt SOE, i'm sure things like that would get fixed pretty quick :lol:

Something I'm worried about is how realistic will it be. I like a realistic game but for an mmorpg, how realistic is to far? :(

Wezen knows what thier doing because they do have a history with working with MMORPG's....infact....i think that the only things they have made.....

I think they have everything down, like look at the video you can see just from that that this game is going to own, if you think that is ugly for a mmo then you should get some glasses or a doctor.

Check out both trailers and the demonstration, moron. This game is like UT 2k4, only with slightly better graphics and a TON more to do.

too realistic i think is when you take it out of a futuristic setting, example : making GTA ( any one of them ) look EXTREAMLY real, with this stuff , it looks very computery , good , but computer like. and its set at a diff time. if they made GTA extreamly real and ect. THATS to far, to the point where some of the more messed up ppl might think its real and go do that stuff. BUT thats alittle off topic, ill be quiet now .

Id rather have a game look like this then more real... CGI is much better looking on comp then real people

I Find alot of MMORPGs have tried to make the graphics too realistic and have ended up taking alot away from the game because the characters dont fit in with the settings.

Look at some the screens. On one of them a guy is shooting two targets at once in different directions. Left click for left gun and right for right? I'm a bit worried about gameplay controls, maybe hard to master BUT MATRIX TIGHT MOVES?!!?!?

Compare these








The first one is using the full potential of the unreal engine the 2nd one (huxley) is ugly


Half life 2 has better graphics and it isnt even next generation anymore :?

I just hope that they learn from planetsides mistake and stay away from Cliantside hit Detection. That really is one of the only problems with the game (that and its crappy netcode that causes warping, people falling through floors, etc..). Thanks to CSHD, you could be shot from behind a closed door, or from round a corner because that person sees you on his screen, and kills you, but you can't see him to retaliate. But will the game really be able to handle Serverside hit detection and still be as big as they claim its going to be? :?

That screenshot isn't what I'd call 'ugly' but its definately not as detailed as that other UE3 shot there.

Watch the higher res trailers...especially the one with the tech demo. You can see the details are turned up in that a lot higher.

Being based on the U3 engine I'm sure this game can scale like crazy.

and also, this is all going to be online.. with surposly thousands of people playing at one time.. so you can kinda expect it not to use the engine to its full potential graphically.

This is a retared post. I'd like to see 16 of these models on a screen at one time. It couldnt happen, computers would crash from the overload. Considering that there will be so many avatars on the screen at one time in Huxley, that model is absolutely fine for me.

You want to complain about graphics? go play planetside, then come back and kill yourself.
