I'm not um... totally sure that any games ban you for using a macro? No game that I've ever played (then again, I've never really checked). Never heard of that.
I'm sure if Huxley doesn't allow Macros (for whatever reason), you can just lie to them. |

Unless Huxley actually does incorporate stunting in the game like it's shown in one of the trailers (We can only hope) I doubt there'd be anything worth macro'ing/scripting using a keyboard. I've actually been looking at getting one of those, the only problem is they don't come in split design.
Simple macros which most people use have not been seen as a problem in WoW, in fact they actually have macros built into the game. This is completely unlike games like FFXI which do their best to not allow any scripting whatsoever and make the player do everything on their own. They do ban for scripts and macros. There are some FPS' that macros did make easier while using, take for instance DoD with quick switching of weapons that were bolt operated to increase the rate of fire. Another one that pops into mind is using a script to exploit a reload bug in a grenade launcher in Firearms. However, depending upon how complex the abilities involved with Huxley, scripting may actually be useful. I personally don't care. You suck enough as it is that you aren't a threat if you need to do it in the first place. It has it's uses don't get me wrong, but when you abuse it and use it as a crutch in a skill based game, you're just pathetic.

For one. Use a little imagination here. Take a sniper rifle, have a script that'll let you swap out between weapons. Say you're on a sniper rifle, you hold down the fire button, it pops a round off and imediately switches to a close range weapon. You keep holding it down and you get the best of both worlds without needing to mess with the mousewheel.
May not sound like much but things like this mean the difference much of the time.

With air vehicals, you could pretty much macro flight manuvers, like barrel rolls and such.

If macros give you an advantage in an FPS, it's the developers' faults.
Piped weapon switching and crazy binds might have worked in ut2k3 where you could actually increase your rate of fire (allegedly) by switching quickly, but that was a flaw in the game design and it's no longer an advantage in ut2k4... it's not difficult to fix that in a game. Most good players have every weapon bound to a key so they can switch just as fast as a bind anyways. |

I don't think it will be a huge problem anyway. There are ways for devs to make it harder for macro's to be used.

I've played this game called runescape and that game had a large macro problem auto mining and resourse farming.
They made random events that need a human response to make go away if you dont respond you are either telaported away from the area or the random event fights you. That could work for for this game when it comes to the gathering of suff.
