From what I could see it really did have the feel of UT. And for fast paced skilled gameplay UT is one of the better deathmatch games. Since the level they had playing didn't exactly show off the best of the Persistent environment, can't really say on that front. However the guy I know in closed beta says that he's really liking it.

No, the game is not in closed beta. Either he´s lying, means the ALPHA which is only for the employed ppl at Webzen or he just..wrong.

Unless I'm being lied to, which I doubt from this person, there is a closed testing going on. Due to the NDAs I won't be posting who it is

As far as being at E3, it's good to see the game getting out there. Maybe we'll get a beta soon, or possibly a release date beyond "Third quarter, 2006."
I was actually dissappointed to see that the player in the game play trailer from E3 was carrying multiple weapons. While I dig the differences show and am anticipating several different types of guns, I was hoping the game would favor a more tactical theme, where each player would have to make a decision as to which weapons he took into battle. For instance, what's fun about everyone in your squad being able to sniper, fire rockets, assault and do just about everything? I do however aknowledge that this was just a game play trailer and it may not reflect the finished product. I hope, in the end, it's more like Battlefield in it's equipment layout than Unreal Tournament. I was also hoping to get more information. I'm dying to find out just what the game is going to have. I mean, I've been following the articles in EGM and what not, and was thrilled to hear both expansive and huge fields of gameplay were high on the priority list, along with player housing, but no one has really told us what to expect in the way of game play, handling, character developement, etc. And your friend (or yourself) is full of BS, man. There isn't even a website for Huxley beyond what's on Webzen's main page, let alone anything that resembles a beta. I'm afraid I'll have to join the opinions listed above and say that unless you can prove it, we're not buying it. Though, chances are, that probably dosen't effect you in the least.

There might be a closed beta as they have playable game code.. they showed it at E3 .... it may also be an alpha test, wich isnt always only open to employees of the company because they need so many people to do it at the same time in MMOGs.
But there clearly is a playable version of the game at the moment and the interviews from E3 did have the developer talk about experiences theyve had playing the game in large battles. The other guy cant provide any evidence because where he to discuss the game on a forum like this.. he breaks the NDA and at the very least gets kicked off the beta, at the worst he gets taken to the caughts for breach of contract.

I think its safe to say since they had a playable version that worked pretty well at E3, so they might be getting close to closed beta.... welll we can hope at least...
as for what other people who have gotten a taste of it have said, this game is going to be pretty intense when it comes to the fast gameplay involved... i believe that we will all have a blast when it finally arrives.... its just a matter of time

They have playable code. That's a give in, but the alpha is usually a very closed affair. Even if he happens to know someone in it, that person would need to be either directly involved in the making of Huxley or know someone who is.
I doube we'd have gone this long with out hearing something about it, you know? And I know all about NDA. However, I'm still skepticle. As far as fast gameplay goes, I wouldn't call it leet. Fast turnover dosen't really mean you need to have skill. If every five minutes you respawn because you got owned, it's sort of like a death match style scenario. There's no point to dying. I'd much rather have to fight for an extended period of time to capture a point than have a death match frag fest lasting 30 minutes and me having to respawn every other minute.
