Default Gaining XP Questions & Others

I have a few questions about how the game will work out as you play:

Will you be able to gain xp from fighting during PvP combat?

Is the game more focused of the PvP fighting rather than just fighting NPC's?

Are these battlezones going to be completely sectioned off from each other, with the only way to get to each one by a certain trasportation? or would a player be able to walk freely into a different zone?

Will winning a Battle give any xp bonus or have any overall influence on the outcome of later games? such as: If my race wins a certain battle on a map, will we gain a sort of control over that zone?

If yes to the above, is the entire world map sectioned off according to who owns the lands at that time?

Or are the maps going to always stay the same and you just choose which you would like to fight at, somewhat like you would pick a map in a regular FPS?

and finally, in the QA they adressed somewhat how the large battles will be like. but i didn't fully understand if the largest and most epic battles will be more to the PvP aspect of the game, with hundreds of people fighting against each other.

If you can answer some or all of my questions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

From the info that webzen has given us so far:

1) Yes, you'll gain exp by killing other players and advance 'rank', but you will need to compliment this with gaining level exp by doing PvE. Only by experiencing both sides can you fully develop your character.

2) The game will be PvP centric, most of your time will probably be spent fighting other players. There has been no mention of any sort of end game grind instance (thankfully) so PvP will most likely be everything in the end.

3) Chances are you'll have to enter these zones through designated tunnels etc in your home city, as for traversing from zone to zone I dont know (apparantly there are no loading screens so moving into an instance is seemless). The conflict 'zones' will be sectioned off from the main city but they will be persistant so they dont just 'reset' when some conditions are met.

4) I can only guess what winning a battle does, so far I've heard that guilds may gain points depending on how they battle that allow them to buy things like guild houses etc. It has also been said that winning a battle in a zone will have an effect on the persistant world unlike WoW where winning changes nothing. I'm not even sure if you can 'win' in the sense that you gain a 'score' screen at the end like in conventional fps'.

5) I'm unsure what the effects of 'winning' are.

6) The maps will probably be the same but judging by the videos they will be huge, so no worries of repetative gaming on the 'same old map'. Also I doubt the maps are 'picked', you'll just go to the part of the zone which is host to the most conflict.

7) I'm pretty sure the huge battles will be the focus of the game, but your guess is as good as mine.

Thats what I gather so far, I may be totally wrong if anyone wants to correct me...

Look at the power-transfer stations and processing plants, links in an electrically engineered chain crisscrossing the planet's barren ridges as capture points in Battlefield 2. As with the bunkers and mud-brick blocks in Electronic Arts: jack-of-all-trades game, your goal is to seize and secure them, except events at one node here affect the entire network. "Every action in the battlefield alters other areas in real time," Kim says. "For example, let's say we have battle area A and battle area B, where energy from the mines in A supports a nearby base in B. So, if enemies capture A, B then loses power and its defense systems go down."

A case study in convergence, splicing first-person shooting with roleplaying, and Epic's Unreal Engine 3 with Webzen's own networking code, Huxley also saves space for mano a mano melees within its world at war. "Four players from each faction can descend into the Lunarite mines and fight for the energy source in the middle of massive engagements," Kim says. "It?s Quake Arena?like close-quarters combat."
They have also said that outfits can take control of lunarite mines and actually get proceeds from the mine while they control it. Add that to buildings in town that an outfit and control and use as a base.

The battlezones themselves are islands, I believe there are 3 or 5 of them. Would have to dig and find out.
As you can see above, losing control of a powerplant can affect things on the network. So winning a battle there does affect the entire area.

I doubt the world is going to change since it's an MMO, the "change" you want would be choosing where you go to fight.

If you want to see what they meant by large battles, go download Planetside and join the foot zerg. Though I think the Huxley battles will be more impressive.

Default Thank you

Thanks a lot for your answers guys,

I have been thinking of a FPS MMORG where you have big battles and try to take over a certain map, by taking the land by attacking zone after zone, so i'm exited to hear if anything like that will be put in the game.
