HAHA so true. i used to count on the long delays in all blizzard games just because i knew the finishing product would be "game of the year" quality. And i do sort of like Wow so dont get me wrong its a huge and popular game. i just wish more game makers would use the extra time to put out such quality work.

I just love your closing statment: sometimes it just that, A BIG ASS DELAY.

I'm all for delaying a game so it will be good when it comes out but all I know is if Huxley comes out at the same time as Halo 3, then I will be getting the latter.

Delays a fine, it gets the game the way it should be on release... however in huxleys case, theres been talk of the pc version coming out this year, and talk of late next year... would like to know if it is a delay or rumor, so i know kinda whta to expect... if it is next year, cool, just wanna know!

As far as I know, there won't be ANY unreal 3 engine games released before next year. UT2007 is planned for "early" next year. Who knows when exactly that will even end up being... I don't see how you could expect a 3rd party developer to be finished with an even more complex game around the same time as the same company who developed the engine.

I don't see what the surprise here is. They haven't even begun beta testing and this will be one of the trickiest game designs in awhile. It certainly will require more beta testing than a classic mmorpg model.

Oh my god! It just hit me, if Huxley isn't for a year..... I might have to actually do outdoor activities!!! NOOOO!!!
But seriously, the only game that I'm actually looking foward to this year is Gears of War. There are a few others that I would not mind trying but nothing that makes me jump for joy. I guess we will just have to deal with this dry spell.

Like everyone else, I'm all for a delay if it fixes in game issues, bugs, balance, etc. But...

We all got to see that in game walkthrough at E3 2005, which showed the 3 races, a couple of scripted events, graphic shading and lighting, etc. Graphics were looking good, and at that time, the game looked close to being ready for an alpha test at least. We didn't hear much until the release of their next trailer, which stated in the middle that the game would be ready for a release around the summer of 2006. I got my next glimpse of Huxley in an issue of Game Informer in the summer of 2005 (July or August). At that time, they had the game slated for an October 17th, 2005 release. The screenshots looked pretty polished, and they had a lot of information in that 1 page article. I didn't expect for the game to be out anywhere near October, since I hadn't heard of any beta or alpha testing, the previously mentioned trailer, and their official webpage was just as worthless as it is now. Over the next couple of months we were slowly treated with a few screenshots, another small movie, and a couple of interviews, which led us to believe that things were moving along great. Most of the articles still mentioned things were in motion for a late summer/fall release of 2006. Webzen even updated their web site to say Q3 of 2006, which really made sense at that point.

Then E3 2006. We were all excited to hear that Webzen was featuring Huxley as their main attraction, and would have a playable demo of the game. Makes sense to me if you have a PLAYABLE DEMO, that you should at least be near or in the alpha testing phase, which is usually followed closely by a Beta, and then final build, which, using other MMO makers as an example, is usually a 6-8 month process from late Alpha to a final build. Using that template, it should have placed Huxley at a Q4 2006, or an early 2007 release. Even some pre-E3 interviews with Gamespot said the game was still slated for a late 2006 release, with the 360 version a few months later. We were all happy! But then, for lack of a cheesier phrase, they set us up the bomb! 2 DAYS LATER, they state that in a year and a half from now, they MIGHT have the final game ready? WTF happened to change it from a 6 month release, to a year and a half release in 2 days?!

I think that's what burns my ass the most. I've been dissapointed in push backs of games before, but this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I'll satisfy myself with blaming the 360 version as the setback for now. If this was going to be a PC only release, I think we would be close to playing Huxley right now.

I would just hope that they keep us as update as possible right now so we know its how its going and maybe get an idea of when to expect....
the problem is theres too many things being said about the release date as to this year and next for a PC release, and for 360 users they wont know what to expect til a PC date is mentioned.... Webzen should set the record straight for all of us and just say what they think will be the time, whatever time is fine, we just need to know what, not 4-5 different time from others, its confusing

In all honesty, there's no way for them to know. Usually the publisher has more to say about the release date than the developers, because they typically force it.

Epic's UT2007 team (just as a relevant comparison) hasn't had this kind of pressure so much, so theyve been able to stick with "when it's done", etc for a "release date". This approach leaves less disappointment when there's delays because people are left to infer their own ideas rather than having to guess whether the released info is going to be accurate or not.

your right, the game looks very polished and from every indication looks like its close to launch..(thats not a bad thing), whats a bad thing is..EVERY WHERE U LOOK AS OF E3, the est date is Q4 2006, gamespy, ign, ,mmorpg.com , but webzen.com's huxley site, still says "within 2007" , so i kept thinking maybe they didnt just update the site and maybe everyone was getting their info from allthe interviews webzen were doing.
Then all of a sudden, some interview pops up on some xbox website that says, no no, its mid 2007 ish .Fact is the sudden SURGE in hype and publicity just tricked me into thinking the beta was close..its not webzens fault they are so good at getting huxleys name out there. But who was leaking all that q4 2006 stuff

that being said, im not bashing anyone, esp not webzen, HUXLEY LOOKS FANTASTIC. :D, cant wait, just wish the release date was clearer.

One thing to remember, they can always move up the release date, but pushing it back causes many problems. Especially with investors.

well we know the xbox version will appear about 6 months after the pc one.

So if the Xbox reviews are saying expect release mid 2007 then that would put the PC version around christmas.

Thing is, they never said whether or not it was the PC version or the 360 version. I'll bet $50 that the PC version is the one they are talking about. Of course I might lose that $50, so who knows.

Great news. At least now I have a series of games been released in a series of dates to hold me down from one game to another. It's like they've all been made for me...

Default Be optimistic

The reason this game is taking so long to come out is because, LOOK AT IT!

This game has a very intricate design and if they do release before they are ready and there are glitches and errors, you guys will cry even more about the game.

Let them take their time, it will be well worth it when it does come out, i know they are messing around with emotions, but in retrospective we have to accept it.

Don't cry, get over it. When it does come out after waiting a year we will be even more excited.
