Perhaps not impervious to mutation (if you've got DNA then mutations are gonna happen no matter what), but certainly any mutations will get detected while still in the bottle and that clone destroyed. I think you'd have to look to the savages as the source of any real mutant species....

With the harsh conditions on the cells I'd imagine there were flaws and deficiencies, especially when we see what alcohol does to a fetus these days, but that's alot of genetics that weren't around when he wrote the book. Anyways, just speculation there, but my $.02 on their process.

It's based on the premice that complete happiness means you're a slave to a certain fate. These fates alternate between people, but they fit their niche. This book is similar in respects to The Giver and Fahrenheit 451 and their views on utopias.
One thing I loved the most was a line from Huxley when he wrote that his savage had a choice between madness and lunacy. Precious few are sane.

Are you all sure its just based on " Brave New World". Cos doing a little search I found another book that huxley wrote called "Ape and Essence" and from just reading the blurb it really sounds the game.
Heres a link to the play.com so you can see what i mean http://play.com/Books/Books/4-/938878/Ape_and_Essence/Product.html |
