Thing is even with guild wars, its more of a sly effect. They'll release expansions every so often and the price for those will basically cover what you would of payed for the montly subscription in between, give or take. true you dont have to buy the expansions but you generally will.
Just so long as the monthly subscription isnt too high i cant see it becoming too mcuh of a problem.

Even if you played this game 4 hours per week, thats approx 60 pence per hour (uk currency).
if you played it for 12 hours per week thats 25 pence per hour. All this assuming the monthly fee is around ?10. (this is just an approximation) Where can you get quality entertainment for 25 pence per hour anywhere else? huh? And if you dont think its worth it then you obviously dont need to play that bad. |

FPS games dont normaly have monthly dues but being apart of a clan that runs there own servers I know that servers do cost money, so if the game is worth it then I'll pay it.

A sensible cost won't be putting me off.
As far as monthly billing goes, what WoW used to charge was a sensible price to my eyes. Should Huxley charge along the same lines, I won't have any major gripes with billing.

An online fee for playing Huxley would not turn me away from the game as it is an MMO you can only really expect it to be good if you do pay as that makes the developers much more willing to fix bugs and add new content and the reason for that is because the better they keep the game up to date the more people will buy it which in time means alot more money for them and obviously alot more players on the servers.

I expect to be paying around 10-15 $ a month as that is the normal price for an MMO right now. Anymore than that and I will probably only use the first free month that they always give you when you buy the game.
And of course, it also depends on if the game is fun or not. If the game is crap then I wont pay them more money.

Huxley being free might actually make me leery of the game. Free means they're running off the sales only. Bad service is a high possibility or massive spam of advertisements. Don't get me wrong, I'd love if it was free, but it would also be a cause for worry.
A reasonable price for the game as a monthly fee isn't that bad. Simply don't go out for dinner one night and you'll have saved close to $10-15, not a bad tradeoff for a month of gaming. |
