Default What would you like to see in Huxley?

I started this thread because about three weeks before I foundout about Huxley me and a few friends were kicking around the idea of a MMOFPS, mainly because we were tired of the "Roll of the dice" combat system. too many times we died when an energy blast followed us around a corner and even through walls. So I wanted to share the ideas i had and see what ideas you guys have that you would like to see inplimented into the game

please keep in mind that this thread is NOT for facts about Huxley this thread if for ideas about what we would like to see in this or any other MMOFPS

For the most part I browse the forum when i am at work so look back here for my ideas as i post them.

One of the first ideas I came up with had to do with the name. dont you just hate it when you have the perfect name for your character only to find that someone else already has it? well to deal it the name field would actually be split into three fields namely: First, Last, and nickname/callsign. so only if your name matches all three of someone else's would it be rejected, so you only have to make a minor compromiseif that happens

More to come

They might not even let America test.

yeah the payment is a little turn off. see guild wars and then good old warcraft 3 got a big crowd of ppl on their servers.. i bet they could get major bonus from adverticing, and sponsor deals for a good fps game if it was free to play then it would attract like double if not triple the players if it is that good :-)

You can't compare Huxley to Warcraft 3, since Warcraft 3 is NOT an MMO. Guild wars is the ONLY MMO out of tons to not have monthly fees, it's not big suprise if Huxley does. People don't work for free, and just copies sold of the game is probably not enough of an incentive for the employees to keep adding new stuff. It won't turn away too many players, most will be xbox 360 players anyhow (I do have one, but don't plan to play Huxley on it).

The montly fee helps to maintain needed work with the game while it goes along, there also new content that is added to the game nowadays, so that goes to keep it running and to add new content once the game is purchased..... like slinenoz666 stated. most online games nowadays have a monthy fee, personally i dont mind it

I totally agree with your post i dont mind spending the extra money to pay a monthly fee that can be used to maintain good severs and free upgrades/add ons and patches. so of the free games example: Battle field 2 is sort of free to play month after month. But someone has to pay for that server you are playing on and maintain it, also look how EA makes expassion packs and dont publish them free they charge 9.99 here or 19.99 what ever. also you need to take in the account of how much money there normal person will have to spend on computer up-grades just to make games play able.

So hey let me get back to origonal posters question: I would like to see some lvl of destructive inviroment(maybe bullet holes in walls if your fighting in a city scape)
Multiple lvls of the area(if battles are in a city/urban battle ground) have upstairs-balconys,tunnels alleys. some thing adding more to the one dimentional just fighting street to street feel.
Second for large (semi open) land battles i would like to see maybe bunkers or maybe something similar to the air and gun towers in planet side.Sort of a focal point or command position to be fought for.
Third i sort of like the idea made from planet side with the constantly moving front lines and bases be captured back and forth.(i was so upset the first time in Wow when we raided cross roads as alliance to see it didnt some how change to a more alliance looking structures) would that have been great..
