The El Banditos is on a distinguished road
Default some worrys

hello, Huxley will be my first MMO game and after watching some of the videos 2 things kind of annoy me

1.i thought that you would be able to fight people whenecer you wanted(like ambushes) but i heard yo had to go to a special zone for that could someone explain?

2. after watching a video of huxley i heard you are able to sell stuff to other players, but can you sell it anywhere or in a cetain place?

thanks

1) There will be both. I don't know if you've ever played wow, but it would be the same thing as world pvp and Battlegrounds pvp. Basically, you can fight anywere anytime type of thing, but you can also join a map elsewhere specifically for pvp.

2) I'm sure you'll be able to trade/sell stuff anywere with a trade window. This is just my guess though, maybe the devs will limit trade/sell options.

1. I think you almost have it backwards. Instead of thinking of it as having designated combat zones, think of it as having designated safe zones. The safe zones are cities. This is to kind of give you a place to go without having to worry about being killed.

From what I understand, some of the combat zones will be instanced and some will be persistent. Instanced means that there are multiple copies of a zone/level so that multiple groups don't bump into each other (i.e. if you're on a quest). The persistent zone is kind of the opposite. Everybody goes there. Events happen continually. It could be considered part of the "main world."

2. I would say that they will have a trading/selling option that works anywhere. It wouldn't make sense to have it otherwise (IMO). However, I don't think anybody knows for sure.

Well, they said that while you're questing you can be jumped by the other faction so that would infer that the questing areas are persistant. We already know it'll have instanced type battlezones so it would seem that the game is capable of both.

As far as cities are concerned I have no idea if they'll be safe zones, half and half, or maybe full on pvp with the protection of gaurds.

in the PvP areas will i have to challenge people to a fight or can i just kill them anyway? i plan to be a highwayman so it would kinda suck if i have to ask people if i can rob them..

I don't think anybody knows yet. (If somebody does, please jump in anytime)

If there was a way, I would say that it depends on what faction you are. People from the other faction should be considered hostile, and so you should be able to attack them upon sight. People from your faction might have to be challenged.

It would be interesting if there was some type of "criminal" or "rebel" system for the highway robber idea you have. This way, you could prey on whoever you want. You wouldn't necessarily belong to any faction.

Really, though, this is all just speculation. There's not enough info out there yet.

You know what would be really nice if they put in, I think there was a game along time ago called Red Moon and there was a bounty system I believe and ppl could out out bounties on your head and someone could collect if they killed you. (and maybe retrieve somthing from your body)

Wow, that sounds great and would appeal to me a great deal - large pitched battles sounds ok but mugging someone is so much more fun.

Might have to change me nick to Dick Turpin.
