Default protection from hacks

well, with alot of first person shooters, there are ussually hacks, im just hoping they are going to be using something to stop this, and even then there are still ways around it, if there are to many people using hacks on huxley, then im just going to put it on my shelf and forget about it.

Webzen is definatly going to have anti-aimbotting software, it's just an unfair advantage no matter what game you're going to get (PC or 360). I for one am against botting, FPSers demand a certain kind of skill, one that I have, and if someone gets tired of getting kicked where the sun don't shine enough to DL a bot, then they're just the biggest kind of loser this world can offer.

amen brotha!

Except if you do it once on a public sever in call of duty one. Then its just funny.

Well more on hacks, people who use can easily get caught in a regular FPS, in a MMOFPS its absurd they have so many different anti hacks and thinga magigs, like for instance WoW has sypware that is installed (legaly) that monitors ur the programs/websites/files you open. I say if your good enough to hack a mmo and not get caught, u deserve those hacks from the endless nights work, getting the hack up.

Well, if any private servers boot up, then I don't mind the botting, so long as they stay out of the offical servers with their hacks. I like to play the public servers because people work on PSes almost twice as much as a hacker does, and they get paid for it too. I like to reward hard work with an annual payment, even if it is only $15-$20 a month, but that builds up with all the people who play the PSes.

Agreed.

Its not something im looking forward to, but it'll be interested to see the hacks and macro's etc people come up with for Huxley. Theres nothing which annoys me more in a game than people who cheat. In EVE we have macro miners who use bots to mine currency, which some sad people actually pay real money for out of game.

Often for these types of exploits the best remedy is the in-game community. Despite everything, there's no ways the developers can guard against all hacks. In EVE there are "guilds" setup whose only objective is hunting down and eliminating macro's. They get to blow shit up, and at the same time make it almost impossible for macro's to make a living.

So, for Huxley, the same should apply. People who get caught using any hack should be dealt with accordingly. The community, or some mercenary "guild" should respond by ganging and hunting them till they quit.

yeah and i doubt many people would, considering there paying $10 or more per month, it wouldnt be worth the risk of getting banned

you'd think so but WoW was 15$/mo and people still hack and cheat. They also get banned for it too.

That is the program NcSoft aka makers of Lineage and multi million dollar MMO company uses to protect thier games. They also sell the software to many other MMO's in Korea. As far as i know non of Webzens current MMO's use this software. And i think Webzen is shaping to be a big NcSoft competitor. But this gives a good idea of something we might see on huxley

It's bound to happen, every game I've ever played has some form of hacking or exploits in them. I just hope people who are caught are banned, no second chances... The only way to deal with cheaters is with a no tolerance policy. Even this will not prevent cheating, but it should significantly reduce it. Basically the developers are going to need to allocate serious resources to finding, preventing, and disabling any types of hacks and exploits. You can not depend on the gamers to do this for you as this will alway cause problems. After a while everyone begins to accuse each other of cheating and flood the admins with bunk requests and reports. I for one would actually be willing to pay more monthly when and if users are found AND punished for cheating. That would be a hard bill to collect on the developers side as many people don't feel the same way I do. But I can see that the dev team will have a hard time BANNING someone for cheating when they know this cheater is a source of income. Of course the other side to this is that if they don't deal with it effectively then the game will not last long.
I hope they come up with a good solution to this as I am really looking forward to this game.

Default Huxley Hacks

I think hacks and exploits come with every game but what makes a game better than another is how fast and how well they deal with them, I mean if there is a known exploit in a game then you can always see the good games by the speed that the developers resolve the problem.

ROFL there is already hacks for this game its using the UNREAL ENGINE. YES?

Americas army and all the Unreal tournament series have hacks for them aimbots, wall hacks and what not

Ive seen the elite hacking undergorund community and they have found a new way of hiding there hacks from anti - hacking software like PUNKBUSTER they are able to embed there hacks into activeX or directX where most anti-hacking software cant go...

Just imagine 1 hacker who can shoot down 5000 players in 10 seconds MASSACRE and most likely major lag with all them dead bodys falling
