Default The Battlefields

There is alot on Huxley that I have seen and it looks like there is a real range of enviroments to run around and battle in, I just posted this to share what I am thinking really and to make you think the same

the maps are also supposed to be huge. What's also nice is that in city enviroments you arent limited to hiding behind trees.

i really hope that there are alot of urban combat areas, they have the best close quarters combat.

definitley urban is more interesting then open fields just makes it a snipe fest

agreed sniper on sniper battles suck i like the urban sniping (not godly but still very useful if ure good at it)

definantely sniping would still be good but agreed you can do so much more in urban areas. i hope they let us use buildings :P

hehe, I would laugh my ass off if the city is there for the socializing/trade aspect and the zoned battlefields are open arena's. LOL

I like the idea of a large world, and city enviroments that isn't limited to just trees, the way things are shaping up cant wait to see the next trailer when the time comes. =)

funny thing is that i think they are, excepte for the open part about it. if you watch the huxley gamplay video, they have a sapien walking around in a city, with alternatives and alien npc's trading, drinking and having a good ol time. Then the show like a place that teleports u to the battlfield.

FAIL!

I love the concept behind this game, especially when it does away with a utopian society like Firefly did with StarTrek (God I loved that show, why'd they cancel it after 24 episodes?). I mean, how many things can you name off the top of your head that says, 'the moon crashed into the earth and gave us one helluva time?'

The other thing to consider is what about VEHICLES? The devs need to really be careful about battlefield layouts with vehicles available. Look at PlanetSide right now, outdoor battles are lame vehicle combat fests (the infantry have no chance). Look at BF2, air vehicles rule the game, there is no effective counter to them. If they are using the Unreal 3 engine I would THINK that the warfare is going to be more focused on infantry battles (at least I hope so). I am and will always be a FPS'er, since the days of doom LAN deathmatch. I just hope Huxley will be a true FPS and not BattleAir2/TankSide.

I for one would not be disappointed to see NO vehicles in Huxley. Doubt that would be the case these days but it would be nice to see FPS go back to its roots of pure my shooting skills vs. yours.

yea i dont like vehicles either that much, its a bit boring just running people over and fireing rockets killing 6 people a hit :(

i definitely agree that vehicles can make things lame (ie pc halo) but i think they would be a good addition if their basic role is transportation with limited combat abilities.

that vid was just a demonstration. wasnt taken from the game world. hopefully it wont be like that...i mean, if they truely hate each other, why would they all be talking/trading with one another? if they want any hope of having a storyline in this game, they wont have sap/alts together.

It better not lag that takes away from fps's in general, but if they share servers the PC players would lag with there crappy computers but the xbox 360 wont :D ok that might not be true but still, well any ways they have probably figured it all out after all with 5000 people they must be prepaired.

I doubt lag will be a major problem, planetside lag was absolutely fine 99% of the time for me and that used much older technology.
