"GS: Will vehicles play a role in combat, like they do in Battlefield 2? Or are they mainly for transportation purposes? We've seen the huge wheeled transport, but what other sorts of vehicles are there?
KK: In Huxley, the vehicles are not only strong weapons, but they also serve a transportation function to convey squads in battle. There will be vehicles used for land, sea, or air. Players can also select various types of vehicles depending on their class. " Something that caught my attention that they said Sea going vehicles, I wonder how this will effect gameplay. Will it just be for transport? Or will there be objectives you can only get on the sea?[/b]

Objectives by sea? not likely, however i say that manning up a sea attack would be a definate tactical issue that most of us are not used to and aims to make the game even better for me.
my question is, how will the "launch from sea" idea incorp? i don't want my platoon to be nuked on landing ya know? can we spead it out? make it hard to track? makes me all the more stoked =D

Most likely assault craft like Higgins boats or AMTRACs or LAV-25s.

The pvp specific battlegrounds are islands, whether you can cross islands is an unknown bescause apparently the battlegrounds on are on a seperate server from the cities (At least) However, since the game is based around energy and lunarites drilling rigs or some such out on the oceans aren't completely out of the question. UT has had water, the players can swim (Who knows about heavies) so it's not like PS where water=death.

It would be even better if we could be like pirates.
"See, there she is, the Sapines ship, right near those rocks," "Right, let's go." Three Alternative on hover bikes speed off towarreds the ship skipping off the waves.......(let your imagination do the rest)

To be honest, i cant picture an ocean after a nuclear war....i keep picturing Fallout tactics, and wastelands etc. I also dont think this looks like a 'Naval' kind of game. Its too...erm...i dunno...maybe someone else knows what i meen. Maybe there will be small lakes and hover cars/bikes or whatever, like the things from Red Alert 2? lol

I understand, Laz. BUT has there been any wispers of nuclear war desimating the planet? If there was, wouldn't there still be? And as Felix stated, some of the battle grounds are islands, so, to have an island, you need a signivicant body of water

The island thing gave me a picture of Planetside/Far Cry....I guess water wouldnt be that stupid. I just hope you can go under water. in BF2 when you swim you stick out like a hot babe at an E3 convention. Under water ability is cool for two things
Extra freedom for adventurous players More chance of sneaking up on people without being spotted.

I will like it if some ships are huge and hold lots of players, it would also be class if you could hire your own NPC crew to walk about and defend your ship and fallow commands etc. Imagin a map with no land. Its just two huge floating platforms or two huge boats, and all the players fight to destroy the opposing ship or platform before they all die.

Well they have mentioned a scenario with one big island in the center and outlying islands around it. So you need some way to get to those islands, probably similar to the BF2 boats.
