After reading through all the previews, interviews and info there is out there, the only thing Ive found so far is:

"Players can get various kinds of weapons from stores and other places. Also, they can get new weapons while fighting. They can store their weapons in the personal inventory and select them according to the kind of battle or mission."


So dont expect crafting of any kind at this point.

Funny, it seems the text has multiple interpretations.

Id say they mean vendor NPCs in certain places, not crafting.

I think you should be able to jury rig your armor by slapping some steel plates on it or something, for like, a temporary buff bonus.
