planetside was not the first fpsmmo. world war 2 online was the first.

WW2OL is still up and going and has a player base larger than PS. It has air, ground and sea. No zoning, one server for thousands. No instances. 1/2 scale map of europe circa 1942,over 600 citys modeled (largest map in any mmo). Its pay for play also.

Ive been playing ww2ol for 5 years. Ive played planetside and ww20l from the beginning and still do and Ill be playing this with www.xoohq.com

Planetside V.S. (xoo)( xen of onslaught) www.xoohq.com (emerald server)

ww2ol (allied) squad- LAF (lafayette federation.) www.lafayettefederation.com)

fpsmmo rules.

Ive always disliked instances but this game is to cool to passup.

A world with instances = chat room with avatars waiting to get in a server. Might as well be on gamespy in chat waiting to get in a server that holds 32/64 players. 32/64 players does not make an mmo. Not sure of instance player max in huxley, but I hope its hunderds. 2 or 3 hundred players is a battle, 32/64 players is moh-bf2.

Hunderds of players running around a city,meeting people and buying stuff is an mmo mall.

But as I said, this is too cool to pass up.

C-22 probably won't be back. We had moved to WoW after that BFG shit, but sadly the team broke appart there.

I was a member of The Enclave briefly, but that was a couple years ago. Stopped playing a few months after "After Shock" was released simply because I did not play it enough to justify paying monthly.

I only tested PlanetSide ones with a friend, I dident even know it was a MMO back then, tought it was just some kind of Battlefield1942 sort of game :P

I remember shearing a tank with a swedish guy, the tank got stuk and we fell true the floor into some dark caves, that was before the cave expansion/update hehe

Oh and to the people saying WWIIOL was the first.. well technically .. yes but planetside was the first that looked and played like a professional one, rather than a hideous hash up of an amateur game

Xen of Onslaught member since June 2003. We were the largest guild on the VS side for a long time. We still have a presence of about 20+ guys that play regularly.

Huxley will probably kill PS.

Wow, most of the people here used to play PS. SOE should be very, very worried. If this poll is any sign, they could lose 3/4 of their playerbase without drastic improvements in very short notice.
