i.e. When going into a battlefield you get a stock amount of ammo, or do you have to purchase ammo each time and the game remembers how much you've got?
Short question requires short answer!

I would imagine that you need to buy ammo. Maybe when you enter an instance you have a certain set up of guns/ammo/armor/whatever that you choose from when entering. that way you can never really forget to buy ammo. or if you do you wont do it again next time because you will hopefully remember to change your set up.

Its sounds unlikely to me, I understand the perks but it would put to much strain on grinding PvE for cash for buying ammo which would be counterproductive. Something more probable would be a support class that supplies ammo on the field.

Actually thats one of the reason of having 3 kinds of vehicles. Support being one of them. For healing and Ammo.
Though the buying thing for ammo is a great idea. Not only does it keep spammers and farmers in check. It also helps the economy. Say a store or w/e sold 50 clips for 1000 dollars. Someone is selling the same thing but for 900. It's helps both of you out.

Hmm, the problem would be youd have to spend alot of time farming NPCs for creds to buy ammo, which can be a damn drag. Unless you get creds for PvP but that means that you could completly drain yourself of creds if you have a bad day in the battle zone and thats counterproductive.
So that might leave you totally without ammo and no creds, that would kinda suck eh?

probly you will halfto buy particuler kinds of ammo, while at least one will do less damadge and cost less or be free...
like bullets that cut through armor better then others if there are any will cost more only question i see is wether or not the basic will be free i hope that you are able to pick up some free ammo (generaly not enough to do much) incase your new and in need of ammo but beyond what they are able to give you you halfto pay or take it off your fallen enemys. i think in pvp loosing your bullets would kinda suck but it would be a good penalty w/o costing too much picked up ammo you can't use? you should be able to trade it to player or trade it in to the bullet outlet.

Well, I like the idea of having some sort of ammo restriction, since that's the best way to limit people from spamming things like sniper rifles and rocket launchers. After all, if you can just fire off 1 rocket every 10 seconds forever, you might as well do it. If it's costing you $100 every time you fire a rocket, or if you can only get so many rockets every ten minutes, you might think about where you're shooting them.

Maybe something along the lines of when you spawn in a battlezone you get a free clip of ammo, but if you want more, you gotta pay for it?

I vote for persistant ammo.
Also for the named reasons. Reduces weapon spamming. also, increases player interaction ("I'm out of rockets, who has some left!?") Decreases deadlock situations ("He's sniping all the newbies! Don't worry, he's been there for an hour, I think he should run out of ammo soon.") And if crafting allows it, offers a great way for starting crafters to make money. ("shop rockets 25 cr, playermade rockets 15 cr") ps, can't you add a poll to this thread? |

I still dnt see how you would be able to get passed the fact that you might run out totally and be stranded. What are you gonna do, go out and melee NPCs for cash?
Logistically anything that hinders or might make ppl hesitant to PvP is counterproductive in a FPS heavy game. The economy can be put in place if your weapon decays after a while instead so you have buy a new one every 10th battle hour or so and have it breakable during combat.

Depends on how much you can carry, one tends to fire a lot of bullets in PvP. But that + having a support troop that supplies ammo, or having ammo depots at outposts and bases is an idea I agree with but not having to buy it in shops or off npcs.
