Lineage had almost 3.25 million players last year at this time. Lineage 2 has around 2.25 right now. They aren't as big of WoW, but they're only located in Korea anyhow.

Does WoW have 6 million subs? Yes, but again that doesn't make it a good game.

WoW draws players in at the early levels, at the early levels it's a fun game. It keeps players via addiction. The "carrot infront of the horse" theory. People keep going, striving, and devoting time for that mythical carrot.

The fanbois will never listen. But, coming from a player who had several level 60s and a Grand Marshal I can honestly say in retrospec that the game wasn't all that good.

You can assume Im comparing to MxO which still has the best and fluent PvP (idea) in any MMORPG except EVE online. Open pvp from level 8, no matter where you are, there are no safe zones.

well that could be fun to a higher level player but when i want to level and do quests, ganking is NOT fun... i played L2 for quite a while and left because I would grind for 2 hours, get ganked and lose all of that exp... fuck that.

and i would like to state that I am not a wow fanboi... I work in QA for the last 7 months of development and STILL find it quite enjoyable. I just personally think it is the best mmo ever and it will stay that way for quite awhile. There is a good reason why there are over 6 million paying ACCOUNTS (subs are not counted if read the press release buddy). There wouldnt be that many people playing a bad game... look at mxo or eve... lol.

I wont even go into a ganking discussion. Theres servers without open PvP as well for those who cant take the heat.

Im not saying WoW is all bad either, it was made for the masses and therefor it worked. Though for ppl more experienced and more jaded, WoW just didnt fill those needs, especially for heavy PvP:ers. Its not that great graphically either, which is important to me personally.

Im not saying MxO is the greatest MMO, just that it has the greatest PvP so far.

Fair enough about gameplay, might be personal preference. Ive just never found one skilled PvP:er in Wow and I hear the same from everyone coming from MxO to WoW. You cant deny graphics though, just line up some screenies.

You sure you aint bias working for Blizzard n all? lol.

Ya, i think its cuz alot of carebearish games have a bigger target market.. they get all their warcraft/starcraft people who prolly never played an MMO and it pampers the crap outta them...they get hooked onto it cuz its ez to play.

Lex,

What exactly makes MxO pvp the best? I mean, give me some actualy details as to why you feel so strongly. I played WoW and found the higher lvl pvp quite enjoyable and well done. SO, give me some gameplay details, you seem to act like you know what you're talking about. And "Carebearish"?? Do you mean the actual graphics or what?

P.S. - What level did you get to in WoW before you quit?
