The info I'm seeing is really turning me off to this game. It looks like it might have too much twitch. I saw a video of someone using a scope, but that was staged I think (other guy wasn't shooting back). Some of the videos for PvP gave me the idea that players might be lagging, but I guess we'll see.

Is the 20v20 PvP confirmed? Or was that just regarding like outfit PvP or something? Also the vehicles I keep seeing, especially in one video which I think might have been leaked from the beta, made it looks like vehicles were worthless. I've heard Huxley won't feature any large PvP maps at release. I hope that just means they haven't got around to making them. I really hate close quarter battles. I'd much rather run through a city in squads. I mean what is an MMO without socializing and team based gameplay.

Also from what I saw this game suffers from heavy consolization. Hopefully it doesn't dumb down the gameplay too much. I played Planetside for a while and for large battles with tons of vehicles and stuff it was awesome. Everyone seemed to have a purpose and there were tons of choices to how you played. Huxley is supposedly unique, but the combat just doesn't look like it's going to work on the large scale if this game ever earns it's mmo title. I mean cloaking is awesome, but everyone is jumping and moving at warp speeds. I imagine melee is going to be one those quick actions when players get too close instead of used for stealth. (unless snipers have a reticule, but I haven't seen one. Looks like point and click stuff so players have no incentive to crouch down and lay single-fire rounds into a target instead of bunny hopping around).

I'm sure this game targets hardcore twitch FPS gamers, so I might be looking at the wrong game. I'll still be trying it out when it comes out, but I figure it's gonna be hit or miss.

100 vs 100 battles have been confirmed. I haven't heard anything about the game not having any large maps on release. Huxley actually boasts all of it's battlefield maps and it's capital cities to be huge.

I don't think vehicles are going to be worthless, I haven't seen any videos where a tank just gets owned without a fight or anything. They haven't really shown that much video with vehicles in it, mostly just them driving around (which is still useful for transportation on a big map).

But yeah, the game will be fast pace. UT/Quake style gameplay with a bunch of RPG elements mixed in (leveling up, getting new armor/guns, using special abilities that you can attach to your armor).

I'm hoping for a mix of fast pace FPS action with strategy that is used in some slower FPS games.

A lot of people are thrown off by the fast pace of Huxley but hopefully they'll still give it the good old college try when it comes out :D

I believe they have a good thing going here. There is no probable cause to believe that they cannot handle the game. Now, 100 vs. 100 is a lot of people to hold in one area. Webzen looks like they can stick to that. Sure, there are going to be the usual bolts and washers missing from the final product, but it is our job as the gamers to report these missing objects. What we need to do is be the gamers we are and make the best of the game that we have all been anticipating for. I know a lot of fans here that would just play this game due to the wait time and devotion that they put into this game. All I know is that it has to be this year for the release. At that time we can all determine what class is their obsolete figthing machine. As the Moderator Murvel said "Remember, this is peacetime. The war isn't expected to begin until late this year."

I've been looking through the official korean Huxley website :: WEBZEN :: Huxley WebSite :: and it's awesome how much information they have. They've added a lot to it since the last time I've poked around there.

The only bad thing is, out of all that info (backstory, info about the game and everything else), the majority of it is done in these nifty little animated sequences. So google translator can't translate any of it lol.

yeah i was checking it out, but it has open beta written everywhere, i also noticed "World Challenger Huxley" which might mean global OBT 6-27 but doubtful. A bunch of stuff is happening today, and then something on 24th through 26th, and grand opening 27th worldwide????

Could be.

The only thing I'm worried about is that whenever I try to do anything on the korean website I need to log in. But obviously I don't have an account for that site. And to make one you need a korean social security number (or whatever special number koreans have).

So even if it is an open beta, we might need accounts for the korean website which we can't get.

So, if there are any Koreans who live in Korea, give us that secret number. Don't worry, we just want to use it to play the game. Nothing more...

Years of waiting really gets to ya, ...all you can do is ease the pain with other games and massive amounts of kool aid. (Kool aid fixes everything)
