Default Huxley as a MMO

How do you think Huxley will fair as a MMO with all the top dogs like
WoW (I had to throw it in) or the soon to be Conan: Hyborian Adventures or Warhammer Online if you look at there play style it seems like games like huxley being as new a style or as next as a MMO get may have trouble competing with games that have a style that most hardcore online fans have become fashioned to like the 3rd person camera, swords and magic gameplay and with serious guild qualities/ raiding. How do you think this game will fair in this competition? and how do you think its new play style will effect the MMO scene?

Poorly due to Korean development which leads to bad publicity and a lack of attention in the states, that and I don't like Korean MMO's to be completely honest. Plus this game is not a new play style, but rather a compilation of various games. All in all, I have no huge hopes for this game, but we'll see, hopefully I'm wrong.

Hopefully we're all wrong Since we all seem to be a bit down on Huxley lately, it would be nice to be surprised.

I do have to agree that Huxley's lack of attention in the states is hurting the game. And I'm still hoping for some info once the game has a concrete release date (not just a guess by ign or gamespot)

And to be honest. It doesn't take long for a game to go from a couple semi-active fansites to being widely known across the internet. That's what the internet is good for, getting info to everyone as fast as you can click that little mouse.

I still believe that once people have a confirmed date, and have something to hold on to, things will start looking up (right now everyone knows that any release date is basically just BS and a guess by whoever made it).

If Huxley is advertised correctly and to the right crowd...ie...fans of UT, Quake, BF, even PS and CoD4. info can spread pretty quickly and people looking for a fresh, non sword and shield spells and potions MMO, will be happy to give it a try.

Believe me, once Webzen gets it together and gives us a believable release date, and we start getting some good information...maybe a beta somewhere down the line. I'm going to hit up every gaming forum to try and spread the word.

At the same time, if Webzen doesn't start doing their own advertising when the time comes (whenever that may be), that could show some lack of care they have for Huxley, which would definitely reflect on my enjoyment of the game. So hopefully they'll pull it together sometime later this year.

Being a PS and CoD4 fan, not so much Quake or UT, I must say that Huxley appeals more to me because I'm an MMO fan AND an FPS fan, but not because I love PS and CoD4. :P

By the way, I dig the colors, feeling artistic? :D

By the other way, I completely agree with the theory you present.

Just thought i'd spice up my post haha

I think a lot of us have really become numb to the
idea of what Huxley is.

Having an MMOFPS is a pretty new concept where few games have gone before.

The swarm of stick and bored MMOs that are flying around the market are mostly just stale with nothing more to offer than a waste of time.

Sure the fast action of Huxley might not be what people think of as a tactical MMOFPS but that shouldn't doom the game before anyone has even played it.

So far we've seen PvP from only 1 battlezone, maybe 2, and also some footage of the cities and a bit of PvE. That leaves an insane amount that we have still yet to see.

Way more guns, way more armor, way more types of battlefields (we've seen what? a map of a broken down city? that leaves anything else you can think of left to be seen).

And we still have yet to find out some main mechanics of the game, like...what exactly happens when you win or lose a battle, what the effect will be on yourself, your city and everyone in your faction. What happens to your armor and weapons when you die, how the player housing system works, how the missions work, how crazy the PvE portion of the game can get.

We haven't even seen the much anticipated 100 vs 100 battles! Yes the maps will be huge, and I'm sure there won't really ever be 200 people jumping around a single room. But still, all the beta footage we have seen is from smaller games, probably more set up to test for bugs and all that.

Now i'll go back and add col
or to make it more interesting :D

I feel the love lol

Different is better, the more colorful my posts are, the less boring they are to read. The more different Huxley is from MMORPGs, the less people will be able to overlook it.
