Default How Important would you like Strategy to be?

I think the title says it all... but Anyways I'm just curious on how important you guys think it should be to well organized rather then just skill.

Damnit!!! I left out my fifth option...

Ok well since I can't edit the polll the fifth option is "Hmmm... If Eva Longoria was 10 years younger and I was 10 years older Ohhh Yeah..." Just copy and paste that and don't vote.

To much controversy between people if there was too much strategy involved. Skill is the main portion of the game. Each person does have their own way of doing things. Now if the strategy was simplified then yes by all means have a few plans. But getting to the point that it has to be complicated and flexible is too much for players to care for.

Meh, I think if your clan has a kisk ass strategy, they should be able to be stopped by a group of "1337" snipers. /shrug

Snipers are overrated. Everyone thinks they are so cool because they wanna be sniper. So what! Big whoop!

A good strategy will always defeat the purpose of a sniper.

"Tactics" should be very important. Because not everyone of your players has "Skillz" but they do have a muzzle spewing lead. If you keep your people together and incorporate some tactic that maximizes your combat power to focus massed fires on one or two targets, the best "Skilled" players in the game would be owned. The problem is, unless you are playing with people who have completed BCT at Ft. Benning, GA, very few FPS players possess the discipline to remain with the group. There is often a tendency to chase the enemy alone or get "sucked in" to an enemy kill sack an then you end up getting piecemealed to death. Is it better to fight 1v1 or 10v1. I think the unit that fights together as a team using a tactic that works with HUXLEY, they will dominate over the individuals who believe they have skills. My definition of an individual is a "Non-Team Playing Mother F......." 8)

I agree, and that is how I hope it will be. but look at say, halo2, the top rated/most over rated game on xbox live.Sniping is easy. They should make sniping very hard, but very rewarding. not some crap anyone can come pick up and destroy with. Kinda went off topic here, but yes, Stratagy>Skill in my opinion.

Aww but I'm one of those. True I won't be a full teamplayer. But that's because I like hunting. Much like a predator if you will. Plasma cannon on the shoulder and a wristblade. My hunts will be exquisite.

But back on track. All because there are some stray players doesn't make them "non-team playing". They probably weren't told the strategy or something similar so he decides to go all out and do his own thing.

Shoot I was at a paintball scenario (Werewolves vs. Vampires). Our code was "purple". But the red team started to figure it out. So we changed the code to
"I'm your huckleberry." Now my team, The Bayou Raiders, was not let in on this. So anyone who started to scream "I'm your huckle berry" was lit-up because we thought that was the reds code.

lol huckle berry :D sorry couldnt resist. Anyways, that is whoever came up with the ideas fault. They should make sure that every single person knows what the code is.

Heh. I'm the same way. I can play in a team, and I enjoy it. But sometimes, I like to sneak off by myself and light something up (with explosives). :D

It kind of saddens me cause I don't think you'll be able to do that much with Huxley. I think a one man team would get pwnt pretty quick, skillz or no skillz (even if you're as sniper ).

And personally, I think strategy is important in that you have to be organized, communicate well, and out-think your enemy. Otherwise, you just gotta be good (and maybe a little lucky).

god this thread is awesome I'm so happy i started it. Anyways I am just gonna summarize my view of it, I think people that are smart enough to organize a well executed plan deserve to beat some mob that just throws people into a fight without much organization. I also think part of being organized is being able to work with and trust the guy or guys your fighting alongside with at any moment, and I know I can't trust some 13 year old kid spamming leet at me.

Also, any chance this game is gonna have a built in teamspeak program?

I played Planetside and spec ops was the way. I love the taking and holding of targets. Held up with limitd cover holding a Gen or what ever is the best!

For the most part, skill will probably have a bigger impact in Huxley than tactics until you start getting into the higher levels of competition, where everybody has roughly the same skill at the game. In BF1942, I've faced off against teams of 10-12 people with my own group of 4 guys, and we can easily beat them even though they try to be tactical, simply because the 4 of us are so good at the game and know what we're doing. Naturally in Huxley, things will be a bit different with ~120 player battles, but I can see the possibilities in a few people going rogue.

I like the idea of people using strategy cause I don't think their is anything better then watching a organized squad take out like 20 noobs running all over the place blasting the first thing they see.

it should be VERY similar to CS.. due to the fact in CS you can still have mavericks and chuck norris's but in the end if you have a well strategized team on your hands.. no one can defeat you. unless camp with AWP in shadowy corner
