Most video game snipers are only good at shooting accurately. That's less than 10% of what a sniper does, and I'm willing to bet that 90% of the time I can sneak up on a sniper and blast him in the head with the shotgun while he's getting ready to pick off one of my teammates.

In real life I don't try to sneak up behind trained snipers to see if I can shoot them with a shotgun. (Unless I'm airsofting, then I'm not going to DIE if I mess up. :P)

A super 9 isn't a sniper rifle at all compared to the higher end stuff. Hell, I remember playing somebody with one and being able to knock bbs out of the air with a stick when I was near the end of their gun's range.

A sniper as a one man team can be snuck up on .....but if hes working in a team he wont have to worry much. A good sniper does stay in one place very long unless he has a great spot or some one coverign him. A teamed up sniper will own you!

Much like in any FPS, if you have "skillz" You will do well enough on your own that your play style will not be forced into having to work with others. But also much like any FPS if you are by yourself and turn around a corner into a team of organized players you will get shot down. Sure you might kill one of two and be hard to hit but there will be to much gunfire coming at you and eventually you will die.
I have "1337 skills" I suppose. I tend to me more humble about it though. I have walked into a room and killed 3-4 guys and it is a total blast. Or snuck up on entire teams using cover and moving slowly together and gotten a bunch of knife/melee kills. But a well organized team no matter how amazing I am will beat me. Ever join those games where you fight some clan and you get put on a team with a bunch of random people who dont listen. No matter how amazing you do your last guy never seems to be able to pull off the win. I win FPS tournaments not because of how great I am. But because of how well my team is. Sure I have won the MVP award but even that would not be possible without my team mates backing me up. Anyways to end my rant. Your best players in huxley will be those who work together with the other amazing players. The "lone wolfs" while they may have great skill and will do fairly well, will not be able to beat the skilled and the organized.

own ? yah sounds like some one who knows very little of tactical squad use. but not trying to talk smack. Me and My outfit think tactic's are key. As for a sniper squad killing a well trainned 9 men rifle squad ? maybe but befor that renforce, if they do not have the use or an tank section or artie , or any radio links to flight wing outfits to call in on you. odd's of killing a platoon or 3 rilfe squads , one ant-tank fire team , and a radiomen and officer ? never, odd's of the office , than the radio men, than the squad leaders and forcing a retreat you'd have a good " shoot at it if you did'nt just blast away at every pfc that walked out. [ the reason for the radio guy is to talk to othere clans for suport of some type ] and if you would like to use it a sniper squad is 5 people, to teams of two with a shooter and a spotter and one team leader. out of they five you only realy need to rifles, the spotters witch should be the better gammers beleave it or not, should have mid ranger assult rifles, a plus would be with something like an m203 , if i wanted to go that way. I'd like to have half the clan trainned to be on that 5 men team and the othere to run an airfeild, so you could know when you call in a strike it will come. of course the gun-ho people would kill you campers, when you die they say they owned you most likely out of lucky or your number was just up. plus your outfit might be force to wait 2 hours or longer real time for the short fight fire, but do it right and glory is yours..... yah right few will not your unit name, welcome to the world of the tactical gameing clans lol.

I'm not nearly as great as the "mad uber 1337 sn13p0rz" that populate the higher FPS ranks, but I've always been a master of moving around unnoticed and popping out in the most opportune spot, and I can generally predict what my enemies are going to do about 80% of the time, so I can tell my teammates where to go to stop them, and I can come up behind the group and wipe them out. Usually with about 2 of my friends (we've all trained ourselves to play this way) I can take down much larger teams pretty easily. Generally those teams try to duplicate "military" tactics, which rarely work at all in video games.

Teamwork is key and entering the battlefield with a plan is critical. Once the team enters into a fight, the plan always goes out the window but it is nice to have a place to adjust off of instead of nothing at all.

I love strategy and want strategy, but I also don't want it to be so important that only guilds can play the game... I am usually in smaller guilds so I can get to know everyone. The big guilds have the problem of having so many people that you don't know who some people are... like strangers in your house... You get a more comfortable feeling in a guild where you know everyone. I wouldn't like to be forced into a big guild :?
I chose the second option. |
