Well, my MAIN question about the game. In the world outside your main city. Is it like WoW where all the zones are all connected and open and free or is everything its own seperate instance like GW and HGL.

We don't really know at the moment. We figure the battlefields will be instanced but webzen hasn't really released any information explaining it.

yeah i heard about this game back in like mid 04 when i was in HS. ive had such high hopes for it after hearing their project idea. im really hoping its not instanced off. i hope its just a large world or split in to like 2 or 3 large worlds or something. that would make for a MUCH more interesting PVP/PVM mix. and along with that have seperate objective based instanced off battlegrounds too. idk they can do a lot of interesting things with it. i just hope it comes out to be a big hit because ive been so anxious for it.

Even if it is instanced there are still ways of making it feel like an open world. Like having a world map that shows all the different territories. So you just travel from instance to instance or something like that.

that actually would not be as bad either. it would still feel like more open space that way.... a lot of the free MMOs like 9 Dragons and 2 Moons do that. With the battlegrounds its not going to be only your party though right? its everyone? I'm hoping its an open world so you can fly through it with gunships or carriers or something. Pain in the ass when everything is broken up.

Yeah the battlegrounds are for everyone. up to 100 vs 100 for the PvP battlefields. You'll be able to enter in a group and with your clan etc. And I'd assume you can enter by yourself as well. One of the ways you get to battlefields is take a train or I think maybe even a dropship but I'm not sure (there's some video of some people on the inside of a dropship but it doesn't say where they're going). As for actual vehicles in the battlefield, they'll spawn like the vehicles in BF:2 UT2k4 and other FSPs

Well we all pretty much know it's going to be split up into certain areas and you won't be able free raom like you can with wow, Even wow lags, and as shit as the graphics are it shouldn't really. Huxley have tried to overcome this problem and failed due to a large strain on their servers so instead they have opted for battle portals. You will be able to free roam the city in 3rd person view and only free roam firendly areas and if you want to fight just free roam in 3rd person view till you get a gang of guys then head for your nearest battle portal.
Either way trying to be no1 on the entire server seems more fun than just trying to get no1 on a certain map, So whatever the outcome i've prepared myself to be happy either way.

Well, about WoW, I dont lag on WoW. And if I do lag, its server lag. But my interface NEVER lags and its perfectly seemless. But I'm really looking forward to a UT based enviornment with huge battles and levels and licences.

I never had that big of problems with WoW lagging (besides when the game first came out and all the servers sucked lol) It seems ok now but I don't play anymore so I'm not sure. As for Huxley. We can't really know if it's going to lag or not. Huxley is being built for 100 vs 100 battles. I don't think WoW was really built for that (it's not one of it's main advertising points at least). Since the beginning Huxley has been saying how they will have 100 vs 100 battlefields so I'm sure they're taking steps to ensure that it plays well. And of course I'm sure the times when literally 200 people are fighting in the same spot will be very rare (if they ever even happen) since the maps will be huge. If you're a big fan of UT (I am) then Huxley will probably be right up your alley. If you've seen any of the gameplay videos, it really resembles UT in lots of ways.

the UT3 servers are really empty, i bought the game online the first 24hrs it was available and i thought it was maybe cause i got the game quick was the reason the servers were empty but several months later and i'm still scratching my head wondering why all the servers are empty since it's a great game.
p.s My UT3 gamertag is D0gSoldi3r on pc, feel free to add me to your buddies list.

Yeah unfortunately UT3 didn't sell well at all. Despite it being an amazing game it's sales were actually pretty bad. Nothing you can really do about it, besides hope Huxley will attracts enough players willing to give it a chance.

If I recall from the very first article that I had read about this game (old pc gamer mag maybe in 05?) the game was supposed to be heavily instanced for pve and then more open ended type of battlegrounds (sorta like what you know of in WoW) for pvp that had more meaningful locations and were much much larger in scale.
Also supposed to be easier ways to hook up with buddies in pve and pvp content alike so you're not spending all your time just waiting and waiting to hook up etc. |

About all the instances and stuff, i thought i remember reading that places are instanced but loading screens arent really loading screens, there-for example- you on a train running around while you load the main city or just driving by looking at open plains while you drive off into the new area. dunno just what i heard
