Default Anti Cheats

I really hope they create an anti cheat for this game. Nothing spoils a game more than people who use cheats. Everyone else manages to reep their rewards the honest way, so why can't they?

I bet as soon as this game gets popular enough, some douche bag will make one :(

Nah! Constant updates would block such a threat. Plus these so called "cheaters" are nothing more than people with advantages. So what, they know how to get past something easier or they know how to get money faster and etc.

It's nothing to be worried about. And since this is an FPS the only thing you will have to worry about is aimbots. Good news is aimbots can only be used for close ranges. They can't snipe. And most likely Huxley will find out about the bots and that name will be banned. Ofcourse Huxley won't always know. It's our job as a game community to spread the word on such issues like this that happen ingame.

Inconclusion, the only thing that can really stop "cheaters" is the community that they affect.

Nah man you cant have people going round accusing everyone of botting, everywhere I go there's a trail of "HAAXXX!!!" like. Huxley needs to be able to tell the difference, it needs to know! They need a Warden of their own.

What like some kind of anti-cheat self government like in //.hack with the Silver knights or whatever?

ok, i have to ask..... HOW THE HELL DO YOU CHEAT IN A MMO ??!! gold harvesting i can see being a prob, using glitches on occasion can be a prob, but maybe i am just misunderstanding what you mean by cheating. since im doubting you mean game codes and ect.

That's the thing, it is an MMO, but it is also an FPS. There loads of ways to cheat in an FPS. Things like, aimbots, wallhacks, and stupid things like, really bright skins for enmenies so you can see them more clearly.

Client side hacks are always tough to eliminate. Id rather have less customizable UI options than ppl using highlight hacks and such. It remains to be seen if one excludes the other.

How about a program that is able to sense a "cheat". It will send data back and forth 86400/1440/24/7/365. Basically it will do it constantly during play. And it can recognize any seperate program that is interfering with the game.

World of Warcraft has that. It angered a lot of people because of the privacy issues associated with it, along with the fact that the program isn't mentioned (don't know if it is now) in the EULA. Basically anti-cheat spyware.

Privacy issues. Ha whatever. How else would a person know about that program unless they messed with a few files. Just a bunch of would-be hackers trying to get it their way.

Perhaps, but the program monitors every other program running in your computer, and that basically gives Blizzard the responsibility of not exploiting all the data they can get from that. Also, private (and illegal) WoW servers have access to this information, which is very dangerous. Of course, you take that risk by playing on a private server.

If only there was some way to make being aware of such dangers spread to the unknowing public. Most people just play games but in truth they don't know how it runs or how it even starts. Just install it and go!

Amen to the "Warden" idea! Blizzard implemented Warden as a way in WoW to prevent cheating and its damn sexy...

ok, so maybe set up the proggy to only moniter things related to the game. also try scaring hackers off by 1. lying about the hacking software, making it seem alittle better then it is, 2. if they are caught they will have a ip adress ban and a cdkey ban, making sure that they just cant go change their cdkey around and hop back on. 3. if a hacker is found that information will be shared with other games, so planetside may now know you do that kind of thing, and if you hop on there, they will be watching you. 4. out right humiliation. every hacker will have their name posted on the forums in a certian area, also what chars they play, what time they were caught, and ect. basicly im thinking of scaring them off AND using a program to moniter it, also add some in game fear into the basterds, if your found cheating, and your in town now or what ever, a BIG warrior in armor no one else can get on, will walk towards you slowly, every one else parting like the red sea. Then he will just kill you in some violent showy manor, even if you run, and generally make every player watching go " holy shit ".
