ok, css is nothing like huxley, huxleys server(so it says) is able to support thousands or hundreds of thousands of players, unlike css, plus you level up, therefor been able to equip better weopens and armor etc, all in all, i would pay quite alot for huxley, it would be dam worth it
also, you say you would rather play wow? wow is not anywere near as fun as huxley is going to be, i would much rather be in a massive battle, then left clicking an enemy, and watching while it gets slaughtered, wow is boring, i honestly do not know why so many people play it. im sorry if i am sounding like a huxley freak oh btw, welcome to the forum |

i think it will probably be more expensive at the begining and then it will get cheaper as more people play after a year or so

Well we should not just assume that it will be P2P, I just wondered what people would pay, I pay every month for my Warcraft and dam! it is worth the money, The way I see it is it costs like $15 a month for like maybe 100 hours of gaming so it really is cheap.

The only reason WoW and FF11 are still popular is because there hasn't been an MMO that grabs the customers attention. Like CGM stated in their six-month study on the art of the MMO. Old-skool MMOers flock to what's familiar, and games based off of the fantasy worlds where it's Orcs, Humans, Elves, and the 'All Mighty Kick-ass Dwarven Battle-Axe +50' have been around since before I was ever born (I'm 16).
You don't need to explain what an Elf or an Orc is to anyone these days (Especially after the release of the re-vamped LOTR series). But when you try to explain something new to people, they either have no interest in it at all, or they're completely infatuated and can't get enough of it (Like me). I think this is based on the 'Adventurist' part in all of us, some more than most. I, for one, know that I am an adventurer, it shows all the time in my actions, I do what most people wimp out on (Like jumping from a three story building everyday at school, but I know how to land so I don't hurt myself too much if at all). So, naturally, exploring a whole new world to me such as Huxley is an exilerating experence. Yes, there has been an MMOFPS before (Planetside), but it didn't have the visuals, the simplicity, the interaction, or even the feeling of being needed on a bigger scale like in the 5k+ player battles that Webzen Games has 'leaked out.' With the upcoming games like Auto Assualt and Webzen Games upcoming line of games such as Huxley, All Points Bulletin, Parfait Station, and others. The MMORPG won't dominate the market like it has for so long, or at least as bad as it has. Webzen Games has SEVERAL sucessful MMOs avalible only to the eastern world, and if they didn't believe that they could be just as sucessful over here in the west as it has in the east, which leads me to how the pricing will probably be. Webzen Games average P2P price is around 20-25 American dollars a month at launch (But that's only because their main buisness is based around second-world countries where money isn't as plentiful as it is here in America), but when time goes by, and more and more people join up, the need for a $20+ price tag goes down, and is reduced to $15-20. Though, with a sucessful launch and a stable community in the first-world countries like America, Canada, and the Brits, where money is plentiful, the 20-25 might be a 15-20 at launch, and with the population numbers the first world cointries have, it might even be docked to 10-15, or even 5-10 (No harm in some good ol' wishful thinking)!

Up to ?15 for playing a MMO is a fair price... If people don't like paying to play.. why be here anyway.
If anyone has ever rented a dedicated server then they will know just how expensive it is... Even for a low end dedicated game server your talking around ?109.00 /month. Which hosts around 20odd players. Just imagine Webzen.. how many servers they might need, running 5000 players per server cluster... How much would that cost them, plus other overheads. So when people come to me and say "Why do we have to pay it not fair" just remember whilst there making Huxley for us to play. if we did not pay them each month something there be no servers for us to play on.. Servers don't come free..

I'd pay 49.95 US for the game itself and would be willing to pay up to $15.95 a month for P2P.
Reality is they will probably give a month free initially and they will have all kinds of promotions for the first 6 months or so to get a nice customer base. They will probably take after PlanetSide , that game had so many bugs at first it was free to play for several months if I recall correctly. |
