This is not confirmed but I have been hearing from a few people now that Huxley is going to now support 10,000 players per server instead of the original 5,000 player limit that was set.
I would love to know what made them decide to double it and how their calculations were so wrong to begin with. It is awesome news if it is confirmed anyway don't you think? |

I've been trying to figure out... well, basically why this matters at all as far as gameplay effects.
I guess the relevance here is that 1 "server" will basically equal 1 instance of the universe, so to speak. So I guess it just means 1 server with multiple blades holding the different instances can have up to 10,000 people doing things that in theory could affect one another. So in theory you could have like 18 300ish player battles going on in 1 iteration of the game world at once (albeit in different instances hosted in different blades). I guess being able to have more players per iteration is better than having less... but ultimately I don't see how it would have THAT big of an effect on the gameplay. More people = more battles going on at once = more options for what you can do and where you can fight I guess. |

Well, let's say it is 10K players. And the rumor that having only one character per server is true. How will this effect the player community?
Since no one has REALLY tried such a high number and such strict character rules, I can't really predict what could happen.

If it's 10k I doubt a Huxley 360 server will ever reach that limit.
Just because since so many more people apparently prefer FPS games on the PC and the fact that the PC version is coming out a full 6 months before the 360 version...eh, I'm banking on the community for it being fairly small. |

Yeah, but again most people prefer them on the PC and most of those FPS or TPS games were ones that were not on the PC or didn't come out on the PC till quite awhile after. In this case it's the reverse plus the monthly fee will put off more 360 users than it would PC because they're idiots and will think that they shouldn't need to pay because they're already paying the xbox live fee and won't realize it's because you don't need xbox live for it.

even more reasons we should hope for servers to have pc users and 360 users for the cross platform gaming. that will get rid of the low population problems but we are just hoping. not much is for sure so far. bu i am off topic.....
it would be awesome if there were 10k ppl on one server because of what connnn said.... more ppl to see. more battles to fight.... more users to buy armor from as well... there are no negative to this unless the servers lag... that would be a horrible thing... |
