i think everyone is talking swg style where your vehicle gets busted up and repairing it dmg the durabilitie a little bit so eventualy you halfto get it replaced but it lasts a good while :P

Nah having repair shops would fix the problem of needing to buy a new one.

have you player swg? basicly your ship gets shot up you repair it and the chassis takes like 1-10 pts dmg and you can always use it but when the chassis is at 1/1 its easily a 1 shot explosion. while parts often have like a couple thousend to a couple hundred thousend points on them it can take some time to wear out the ship/parts but it will eventauly happen thus its good to not have the vehicle go boom :P

What if, you buy a "Title"* for a vehicle much like you spend cert points in PS and anytime you want to use the vehicle as long as you have a "title" you will be able to bring that vehicle up like the vehicle terminals in PS? Therefore, if your vehicle is damaged or destroyed in the field, you can replace it at a terminal.

I use the word title to mean possessing the ability to drive and access whatever vehicle you have. This would preclude the necessity to purchase a new ride everytime it gets destroyed. That could get expensive.

thats stretching it a bit, i mean there has to be some kind of penalty to losing a vehicle otherwise killing vehicles would have no point as the person would jsut respawn and get another one.

see... i am not a big fan of the way ps does it because you always see so many people bailing out of vehicles and suiciding their vehicles... its all well and good becvause it fits the ps story... but i don't think it will fit too well in huxley unless they make it so you halfto wait half an hour to pull another tank or something... this way they can justify giving it all kinds of armor so it can run away.

from what i understand they will be hard to get like a bfr to the vs so they should cost more and get more.

besides i am a pilot mnyself i'll probly be the one droping bombs on em :P

yes. In PS, if you have the Armored Assault 2 certification you can pull up a Prowler (TR), Vanguard (NC) or Magrider (VS) anytime you need one. Take it out for a spin, it gets destroyed--along with all occupants, you respawn, run to the vehicle terminal and pull out another one.

I am just suggesting that maybe Huxley will be similar to this. So you don't have to spend another $1500 on a Hover Tank.

Im in favor of having to spend the $1500 once then jsut payinga repair fee everytme it gets destroyed.

I don't know. It's a really good advantage. But the tank is your responsibility. And if it get's destroyed resources shouldn't be wasted by giving things out for free. After all this game is based around fighting for resources and the lunarites. So just getting what you want for free shouldn't really be a smart thing.

But if the players record is good then the comp might allow it. Like if he has 500 kills using a tank and has only blown up 100 times. I'll give him one for free he's of good use. But 300 kills and 500 deathjs isn't good at all.

Another thing if items aren't given out for free then people will want to concerve more. And if money is hard to get then people probably won't want to use the vehicles they bought.


Such a dilema.

well as an added penalty if your a realy bad driver eventualy it wil become so weak due to its durabilitie being lost int he repairs that it will eventualy not be worth it to pull it out so you halfto have parts replaced or something (in other words you can't just buy the top of the line suck so bad at using it that you make no money in it and keep on doing the same thing you would halfto be able to replace it eventualy so you need to be making forward progress)

i like to have to pay for my vehicle, in PS u ve all vehicles u want, and the Outfits dont care in aspects like equipment, i like the idea to the guilds in HUXLEY they ve to manage the resources they ve, and move along the line of war, where they need, moving sometimes own forces in desperate situation. War cost money, in huxley it would be too.

i think it should be like RL the vehicle is your respncibility, if you crash it, your fault and you need to buy a new one. This will also prevent all the noob drivers from cluttering the battlefield :D

I agree on that a BF2 situation should be avoided.

It doesnt have to be the "buy a new one" scenario though. Rather have it so you can only take 1 vehicle per battle with you, if you crash it, youre on foot until you leave the area and fetch a new one, losing 10 mins or so. That would cost you time instead of money which could be just as important.

I woudl like to see the insurance like eve. Ships can be replaced quite easyly but it can make loseing a few a pain. 1 thing i would hate to see is people just owning everythign in there uber vechial then just replacing it. die-> respawn-> own->repeat. I want them to be special so want them to be restricted in a pretty harsh way.

This a good idea. PS has a time limit on when you can get a vehicle back again after you pulled one up. not sure how long it is. It might be 2-4 minutes. But if Huxley puts a 20 - 30 minute time limit on a vehicle redraw that would severely hamper someone's ability to retrieve another one after they die and encourage folks to handle them a bit more responsibly--like running away and repairing when necessary or establishing a defensive line and taking vehicles to be rapaired behind this defensive line.
