there is a gameplay video from a while back on IGN that shows the combat at crazy speeds. do u guys think that is too fast of gameplay to be fun or even to work online with so many people? it seems like the person who is best at mashing there control, twitching, and button mashing will be the best and not have any strategy or skill. what do u think of the gameplay video? IGN: Huxley Trailer, Videos and Movies
check it out if u havent seen it. |

I'm sure people with quick reflexes will do well in this game. But as you can see in the video, it's not so much you run in and die without knowing what happened. It'll be fast gameplay but I don't think it'll be to the point of instagib CTF or anything. Players actually have time move around and aim etc. As for strategy, ask anyone who has played UT or Quake in a clan, they'll agree that lots of strategy goes into how they play. No matter how fast the gameplay is there will always be strategy. I play UT a lot so the gameplay doesn't seem fast to me anyway so I assume everyone can can get used to it. So yeah quick actions will reward you, but I don't think it'll be a game where you run in and die run in and die run in and die every two seconds (unless you want to play like that i guess lol). I'm sure that if you work well with your team you'll do fine, and strategy will play a big part as long as you take the time to set one up and get people together who are willing to play along.

Well i can say few things, the engine on which the game is based have been used in UT3 aswell, which isn't out aswell. Which makes it weird judging how quick the game is if you haven't tried it's engine. I mean yeah sure UTis quick and UT3 will also be. But as far as i remember they mention in the "Computer Gaming World" magazine that the gaming speed will be slower for more tactical gameplay.
![]() So im not really worried about the game speed. Plus since i didn't mind the game speed of Gunz the duel which is faster, much faster then UTs and they claim to have Huxley to have even slower... I don't mind ^^

It might on some systems.
I have a Mac Pro which has 2 dual core processors, 2Gb ram, and a pretty decent ATI card (can't remember the actual model). My monitor supports 1920x1200. Even with the nice hardware, in Quake4 I cannot run at my max resolution without a laggy framerate in large rooms with lots of people just because that max resolution is so large. So from that, I think you could say that it really depends on what resolution/graphics settings you use in the game and what hardware you have. Obviously Quake4 doesn't require hardware nearly that good, but even still you can push the game to the point it can't keep up if you try. Same can probably be said for Huxley... I try not to run the min specs required for a game (although I have had to before), but as long as you at least exceed them a little, and you run with the right settings, it should run fine. |

UT3 engine was used for Gears of War as well as Ranbow3: Las Vegas. From my playing experience the engine is fine, I would be more worried about your computers (or xbox 360s) performance.

They say they will release it for PC too (GoW). And yeah im worried about all the requirements all the new games have. I bought my comp more then half a year ago and i thought it was very good but now i found out all about the Vista DirectX10 and other stuff. So i am pretty worried about how mu comp runs single player games but im sure that MMO usualy don't putt up high requirements since people p2p for them and they dont want to lose lots of people who dont meet those requirements. So im not worried about Huxley requirements.

well, i bought my computer 3-4 yrs ago, and then it was blazing fast. But it can still play doom 3 on decent settings, but say goodbye to oblivion. THats only because i only have a gforce 5200. So once i upgrade my card i think ill be in good shape. Anyway, my point is i think Russian will be able to play huxley on decent settings.
