Whenever I make a female character, which isn't often, I can't take it seriously. I never play female characters and I don't see how any other guys can. Its not like male are better than females, but playing as one is just..weird. Anyone else feel that way?

I usually don't play female characters just because I like to roleplay just a little every now and then and I'm not a girl so there ya go.
a lot of people I talk to say they play female characters just because they don't want to stare at a guys backside all day which I guess is understandable lol. Doesn't really matter either way to me. I think it's extremely funny when people try to flirt through a video game. I have to say it's really funny to do as well. not for gold or items hahaha but just to mess with some really really desperate people. I guess thats kind of mean but oh well maybe it inspires them to get out more |

In the onyl case i can play a female character is when i play a mage/sorceress or such. Why you might wonder? I played Diablo 2 LoD and there you had only female sorceress. So i love mages in any game and i got used to play female characters there, don't really see whats the big deal... It's a game after all.

In my opinion, I think playing a female character as a male is completely wrong. First rule of the internet: All chicks are guys unless otherwise stated on a form of voice chat.

Well i believe that guys who think that it's bad to play female as male, can't handle the idea of a guy playing as a girl. I mean i play female cahracters, when i do play them, i play for only reason: Cause they look hot and it's beautiful to play them. Guys who dont like playing them cause they think it's a girl and it turns out to be a guy and they think, eww am i homo? For me if there is a femlae character i dont think that it's a girl behind the screen, i only think that it's a player and dont care if it's either girl or boy unless he or she starts to treat my in some way that i either like or dont.
What im trying to say is, if you are a guy and you dont like other guys playing females characters, that's discrimination. Cause guys think that there is a girl and hope to show how guy they are and hope to get layed. But when it turns out to be a guy they think that it's wrong to play female character as a guy. Dudes wake up, this is a game and no matter whether you are playing female or male it's just a programmed #d picture that goes around, think of the game and not sexual thoughts lol :P

I usually choose at a whim when I make characters, and truthfully 60-70% of the time it's the female character. Now I know some of you are thinking "Wow Lunar are you some kind of closet fag?" and the answer is no. The real truth behind it is that if I'm going to be staring at some virtual character's ass for the next 500 hours I'd prefer it'd be a females. I say all you guys who'd rather stare at a guys ass are the homoerotic ones.
But Huxley's first person so I'll probably choose a guy. |

Well yeah i mean so long you care for the game play, what you like and what you seee then i don't really care if it's a female or male, as long as a guy dont act like a girl. I mean when i choose a female character i think as lunarhawk, not fun staring at a guy 24/7, better some hottie running around killin' everything on sight.

Played a Blood Elf female paladin a bit back in my WoW days. Never got past level 20. Guess I felt too...well...ashamed?

I only play a female character if stats are stated differently than the males. Usually females have more agility and less strength. And if that is the case in Huxley, then I will decide to be a female Phantom. Originally I would be a male. There are few games out there that participate in this practice. The "respect" women want only come from incessant nagging and pouting. For centuries men have proven their strength and the ability to care for the famliy. Obviously that wasn't enough, so women began to march and nag- I mean ask for equality. That is the reason why games have the idea that women warriors (despite how small and still skinny they are), can still equal the strength of a man 3 times her size with 200 more pounds of muscle.
Personally, I think it's pathetic on how easy the game industry has given into that ideal. I also hate how they claim realism, but the sexes are equal. I'm not a sexist, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

If stats are same I'll go with female if it's a third person game and male if it's first.
If stats are different it depends on which one has the stats for what I'm going for later in the game. That about sums it up. |

I personally pick whichever looks better for my class. Example: back in the WoW days I was fond of the druid class, Alliance side because of friends, however Male NE ... look like queens (IMO). However, to throw out a different perspective, I found that people would come on to me more often than not. Maybe it was because I was an upper level, and they wanted help (which i would have done with out the hormone-packed comments cuz I'm a nice guy) ... Or maybe the majority of the population was going through puberty. I don't know.

I have absolutely NEVER played a female character...the only possibility that I might would be a caster class..but in huxley, the MMOFPS...HELL NO! I wanna look bad, in the good way :P and i don't think females can do that in a game where your supposed to look all big and burly...even as a phantom.

I know in Rainbow Six: Vegas most of the guys who play as girls say they do it for the tactical advantage. The female character models are usually smaller than that of the male, sometimes significantly. It can actually make quite a difference in one-hit kill games.

I don't really think it's a big deal lol. Having a smaller figure can help tactically (even if the hitzones are the same, smaller body = harder to see and maybe less likely to get targeted). If someone wants to get their jollys off to a video game then that's their business I guess, just don't bother me by trying to get some hot videogame action.
Personally I don't think the female characters look that bad in Huxley. Many of the screen shots show them much more fully (and more realistically) clothed than any other game. We've probably all played games where females have armor that only covers their chest with a little rag down below. Many of the screenshots I've seen show the females in full armor, completely covered or at least close to it. Leaving mostly just the face and body figure to differentiate between male and female, not tiny clothing that wouldn't do anything. So I guess do whatever you want. Just don't try to flirt with me to get free stuff or something. I'll just make fun of you and walk away. |
