Huxley Practice

I've recently acquired UT2004 and I have to say, it brings me back. I am hosting a practice server for anyone who wants to join. It consist of waves of monsters in the Invasion Mode. There will also be OnSlaught Mode which consist of capturing resource bases. So if you have UT2004 or want to get it- Look for the HuxleyGame UT2004 Server.

If there are any mutations or any added rules you want, just tell me.

Yeah UT04 is great game that really reminds of Huxley, but i don't really like the function of the vehicles, aspecialy the gunships. Love mostly to play on On slaught mode cause there you got all vehicles and cool weapons, putt 32 bots and it's a total mess xD
Anyhow yeah i hope the Huxley will be based on that but much much much much mmmmmuuuchhh better :P

PS: Forgot to mention that i don't have the real copy of the game, only pirate so it works as single player only >.<

I will host it starting 9:00 pm my time. I'm Louisiana- look up the time zone because I forgot the time changes for some people. Anyways- tonights practice will be Invasion- it's insane with only 10 waves in 20 minutes to play. The maps will change once everyone dies or the waves finish. Any questions? There are actually reasonably decent invasion (mostly with RPG Invasion mutators running) servers people have running constantly. It's kind of interesting because it saves your "character" based on the exact name you connect with, so you can actually have multiple ones simply by reconnecting with a different name. They must pay a boatload because with the extra powerups I'd think they would take up more bandwidth than even the 32 man ONS servers.

Well then that's a load off my boat. I say we pick one with low latency and plenty of room, just for us to hang out in. If you could give a few examples of servers, I'm sure we could all rally and decide on one fit for all of us to enjoy.

I still play, and I'm sure some people on this forum play. Don't worry about there not being people being on to play or servers not being up though. There are still bunches of servers up for every type of game (onslaught, invasion, instagib ctf, etc.)

As for us picking a server we can all play on whenever we feel like, I'm up for anyone if someone wants to suggest one, otherwise next time I get on I'll just look for a decent one and toss it out there and see if anyone else minds playing on that one.

I figured there were still people playing it, but I wonder what's the average number of people you'll see on active servers? I don't wanna go have a deathmatch with only 2 people in it.

Game looks good, but the graphics are like...meh, dunno. Graphics mean alot to me, but I guess the gameplay will make up for it.

And 'bout the vehicles. How big of a role do they play in the game? I prefere running around blasting the sh*t out of stuff with my own guns instead of driving around in some hard-to-control vehicle.

I remember I didn't manage the vehicles so well in Starwars Battlefront.

There are a good number of full UT2K4 servers up at all times, and then obviously a bunch more that have 16/20 10/16 etc. There is no worry about finding a server with lots of people on it 24/7.

The graphics aren't amazing, it is after all UT2004, but it's not horrible at all.

If you're playing onslaught, vehicles play a pretty big role but it's not really a bad thing. Sure it's annoying when you get plow'd over a couple times in a row by some crazy zooming around the map. But they're not all that hard to take out if you have some decent aim and actually take the time to focus on taking out vehicles. They can be a pain, but they can be killed pretty easily if you take it upon yourself to do so (especially because they have that Avril weapon that locks on to vehicles and all you have to do is lock on, fire, and keep them in your crosshair for the missile to follow the vehicle until it hits). The vehicles are pretty easy to control, nothing complicated at all. press forward and you go forward, press right and you go right blablabla. The air vehicle (whatever it's called) is pretty easy too. I don't know how good you are at vehicles but these aren't difficult in any way.

Well yeah the good thing in this game that ANY weapon can damage vehicles, just depends how much. The vehicles are easy to destroy if you are good player, with AVRIL even a noob can destroy any vehicles, as Grind said.
Vehicles are easy to use but control of them is a bit lame, it's old game so they didn't know at that time how to make good once :P
Anyhow the game is fun. =)

Problem'll be to find a shop that still sells it. I mean, it's an old game. Some shops tend to clear out games at that age pretty quick. Anyway, I'll phone my local game shop tomorrow and ask out if they've got it.

Thanks, but I prefere not ordering it online. I think I'll be able to find it in atleast one of the gameshops around where I live.

My favorite gameshop around here tends to keep the really good games in stock for as long as possible, so that makes it obviously the first place I check.
