Huxley Game, Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter Game, MMOFPS

Hi again,

a friend came up with this idea the other day for another game. I am just curious what you guys think

What would you do if huxley ( or any mmo actually ) would offer these servers:

1. normal servers as we know them ( pvp pve whatever )
2. new servers for groups of specific ages (16+ 18+ 21+ 30+ etc ).
Players would need to verify their age to be able to join.

You could select if you would join the free servers or the one with aging limit.

Isn't an online community supposed to have people connecting together and playing. It would segregate the community too much. What if a person that was 16 worked on a character but then turned 17 in a month. What will happen then?

PLus alot of people would put 18-24 because they want to cyber with other perverted idiots. (who will mostly be men)

Hi there,

lets just assume that it would technically be no problem. And if the person turned 17 it could choose a 17+ server or stay on its old one. Or whatever. The technical stuff is not so important in this regard, its more like a theoretical question

So in that regard you asked:
Isn't an online community supposed to have people connecting together and playing.

umm, no. im sorry but i have friends and clan members who are older, im 15. now if this would happen. im thinking people would lie about their age, i might. just because i want to interact with large groups of ppl, not just ppl my age. just because they are older does not mean they cant be friends. As for maturity, i think that is a must always. preferably , if this was in place, i wouldnt only lie about my age to meet more people, but also to have more maturity lvls. i prefer a higher maturity lvl then a good deal of ppl in my age group. this is just my oppinion. i really dont like the idea just because its so restrictive and is likely to make the game a failure. also what guyver said.

Ya i'm 14 and pretty sure if ya made age grps most of the older 20+ yr olds would join the 13-15 server just to pwn the weak young newbs :cry:

as for free servers , why go through the extra-work ? no one but maybe a VERY small amount would be on the age servers. so that kinda defeats the purpose. and as for what guyver said, the young and immature are good for that :twisted: makes me feel even less like a noob when i splatter one.

well, i would try to tie it into rp and say im trainning him( or her ) to take pain and become super human to where he( or she ) can stop a speeding bullet.

Why train them? Only if they are worthy they shall be trained. If it's some jackass running around.

Then they don't deserve to be in a guild or trained. Now if it was a guy that says

"I have won several Halo and counterstrike tournaments. I am trying to get used to this game's features and rules. Can someone help me."

Well then he has potential.

Yes the servers should be age restricted, but 17+ servers. No need to seperate it any further than that. Because if parents would do their jobs and read that the game was for people 17 and over and wouldnt use the xbox/pc as a babysitter then we wouldnt have the chocolate milk incedent. And granted some people may act immature who are 17 and older but less likely than someone 16 and younger. Parents need to start taking responsability for their children. Im tired of hearing "wow how old are you? at least im not an old man playing video games." seriously that shit is annoying. I am old enough to buy the video games, you are not. So please quit messing up my spare time by screaming like a little girl or singing or even acting like your older by cursing thinking that it makes you cool. Go play some sports or something.
