Huxley On Windows Live

Huxley will be both Vista and 360 only, considering the fact that 360 players will be able to be on with PC users at the same time, wont this have to be done through Games for Windows Live?

It's not a technological requirement, it's just a matter of whether Microsoft will buy out the developers, since they'll lose tons of potential customer base on the PC, and MS will have to pay them for that difference. Considering that I would think this game's long-term demographic would be more PC than console, that would be a lot to make up for.

MS could just be lame and require any game that wants any cross-platform capability whatsoever to be Vista-only, but we already know UT3 is trying to work out cross platform with them, and it absolutely won't require Vista. Once UT3 comes out and we hear about their decision on the issue we'll have a pretty good idea of where MS stands as far as allowing cross platform without requiring vista.

Well i know that Vista is hated by many, loved by many and not owned by éven more people. Im not planing to purchase the Vista before its 100% working with everything like it should.
Releasing it only for Vista and xXx-Box wouldn't be very smart cause many people dont have vista and they'll lose money there.. more like wont get them. So i really hope that the game will come out for normal windows too. (Windows Live/XP or whatever!) :P

Wrong, in MS eyes they will make money because people WILL buy this game (and Vista if so needed) when they find out how awesome it is

The game will be brand new and not really many people know about it plus the Vista has lots of glitches with other programs and so on. So taking that risk and hoping that people will stupidly buy Glitch-Vista just for Huxley? Doubt it mate =)

I'm sure I've read someplace that Huxley will NOT have cross-console servers.

Well, the developers may be able to make cross console servers if they made you need Vista in order to play PC, but as InsaneRussianSwedish said, they'd probably scrap that idea because they'd lose money on the PC market.
I dunno about you other people, but I'll NOT be willing to pay out 500$ to play this game. In that case, it's Tabula Rasa for me.

The fact that its not a cross-console game means that youll not be able to play alongside people playing X-box if you play PC. Theyre on separate types of servers. I cant remember where Ive read it, only that Ive read it.

Sorry about the "youll" and "Ive" and "Theyre". Its just, whenever I try making that little sign betwen the letters, something pops up from the bottom and cuts me off. I want to kill it.

Cross.Consoles will be good for everybody cause if it will be mixed it would be unfair to xBox users trying to shoot somebody with joystick while i got Logitech G5 mouse quick as hell ^^

Um, no. Wouldn't be cool at all because of the difference of controls. Someone playing with an x-box controller would have problems defeating a player using mouse and keyboard, and opposite. Well, it'll probably be possible to use keyboard on the x-box though, but you see what I mean?

I played abit "Timesplitters - Future Perfect" before, and there you could play online on servers for both PS2, X-box and PC. Or just go on servers for your type of console only. That way, if you prefered big battles, you could go on the cross-console servers, or go on your own console's servers if you prefered to play with other people having the same handicap or whatever.

But Timesplitters wasn't an MMO, nooo. If Huxley becomes cross-console, you'll be stuck with players that can either kill you more easily than you can kill them, or opposite. You see? It'll not make sense at all making the PC version for Vista only if there'll be no cross-console playing.

I pray I'm right, and not only mumbling bullcrap right now...

Can't understand how people play shooting games on xXx-boxes and such.
I mean look here... Racing games = Fine --- Fighting games = fine. But when you need to move quick and react quick the joystick isnt designed for that. Mve little bit to the right.. Okey now Up.. ohh damn you missed him now he is over there.. You know what im saying?
Anyhow Vista is trash and maybe thats why they are havign so many delays with the game... They were about to release it and somebody said make it for vista... so now they sit and reprogramm everything to make it only for Vista and xXxbox! I hate you vista!
