as mentioned in another thread, I got a little inpatient so decided to retexture an existing character in UT2004 to make it so I can play my Huxley character.
here's the pics, I'd say she turned out quite well looking in UT http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/ima...144ee4e34f.jpg http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/ima...58fb4fdac9.jpg and here for anyone who is interested - you can download her to play in UT2004 from here http://filesbox.info/427Sephina_UT2004.zip instructions for use: take all the files out the folders inside the zip files and copy them into the folder with the same name in your UT2004 game folder (which is by default usually directly under C: in the root directly for some reason). enjoy =) edit: yes I'm well aware of the fact that the place I chose to host my images isn't the fastest but they didn't require me to register or anything edit2: it has come to my attention that the image hosting service has already decided to pull down my images... anyone know of another place where they'll actually KEEP my images up where I don't need to register? edit3: they didn't take it down... just gives the "Page cannot be displayed" half the time along with a very slow load... uploaded them to here as well incase they don't work for everyone http://aycu21.webshots.com/image/197...3258793_rs.jpg http://aycu12.webshots.com/image/188...6010933_rs.jpg - Sephie Last edited by Sephina; 07-06-2007 at 05:39 PM. |

I've also got one other character I have finished who I had plans for but never entirely finished putting him into any game engines - and this one was entirely made by me. no retexture http://aycu17.webshots.com/image/191...9547986_rs.jpg these pics are of course nothing new - Zeek has already seen them. I'm just updating you guys since I was gone on Hiatus from the forums for a few months =) - Sephie |

I wish I could've learned to do this type of stuff, but if you read the tech forum you know that I've been limited by an absolute piece of **** computer for the past few years so I never got the chance to even play the games you would do this with =/ Hopefully that'll change since I should have a new high-end computer in less than a week.

UT2004 actually scales quite well. You might be surprised what you can get away with running it on. It even has a software renderer, so if you have a reasonably fast CPU and no vid card at all it'll still play (it won't look or run that great, but it's playable).
I actually played the ut2003 demo on my old pc, a 1.4ghz p4 with 32mb TNT2 vid card and dual 64mb PC800 ram sticks |

but at any rate you'd have to look around to find the actual game - as the stores no longer sell it alone. you'll see it in the bundle pack with the other unreal games "unreal anthologies" I think it was called, but if it's just UT2004 you want then do a search on the web for it, found it on a few online stores for $14-ish. - Sephina |

www.gogamer.com is always a good place to look
FYI the Editors Choice Edition just includes a bunch of stuff that you can download for free anyways (so no point paying extra). |

Nice model. For someone who tried using 3dsmax and failed miserably, I can say you've done a really nice job with Maya on that blue hair person.
Sorry if the following is off topic, but for those interested about learning the Unreal environment, visit http://www.3dbuzz.com, who are hosting free VTMs (VTMs are video tutorials) which I found to be of great quality. Plus registration is free. "http://www.masteringunreal.com/", now taken offline, used to be a redirect to their homepage and were sponsored by Epic's 1 000 000$ Make Something Unreal Contest. 1 1 http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=299295 P.S.: If I might add, imo, 3dbuzz is definately worth checking. |

Might have to give up playing other peoples (company's) games entirely just so I can finish making my own games though sadly, but it's a price I'm willing to pay to specialize in such. - Sephie Last edited by Sephina; 13-06-2007 at 03:55 PM. |

Unreal anthologies only costed me like twenty something bucks at a best buy. Came with the first unreal, first UT, Unreal 2, and UT 2004.
Of course, my computer is so far ahead of Unreal 1 and UT that it runs them too fast. >< |
