Question Huxley, Which Platform?

i want answers from both sides so plz don't be 1 sided about this.
I don't know wether or not to get this game for pc or 360 when it comes out.
The major differences are:
360 = easier control IMO.
PC = maybe better graphics?
360 = no lag
PC = (if the rumors are true which i hope they aren't...?) All races.
360 = campain mode.
360 = BIGGER SCREEN!!!
PC = possibly easier downloads and Modding?

IDK just help me decide guyses.

Okey okey, I'm sorry. I can tell you right away that I am one-sided.

PC = Better control, better graphics and the correct way (imo) to play FPS-games.

None of the listed 360-pros above suits me in any way, but hey, that's just me. It all really comes down in the end to what you want and how you want to do it.

Depends if you got a good system by then. I'm a PC guy but a 360 would be better if your PC will barely be able to run the game when it's releaed.

Im getting it for the 360 because I like using a controller over a keyboard. I dont like using keyboard controls. I dont worry about graphics too much and from what Webzen said the PC graphics wont look too much better than 360. 360 version will be able to play all four races. Pick whatever one works best for you.

pc for community. This game will thrive on pc cause its what pc players do. We play games for years many console people will move on in months I dont see it with a huge following on 360 for years like it will on pc.

Obviously a joke, PC graphics are usually always better then 360 depending on your system. 360 it is always the same, whereas a PC you can update everything and make the graphics look even better. Unless 360 gets an upgrade top end PC users will easily have the better graphics, while being able to keep upgrading if you wish, it wont be a tiny bit better like they think. Nomatter what PC is superior to a 360 graphics wise, because of being able to upgrade.

Also, if there are montly fees, how will this impact 360 players?

Will they have to subscribe to Xbox Live and Huxley?

As for the differences you stated, Murvel pretty much summarized my thoughts on this matter.

ok i have to say that controller > k/m all day long for FPS. FPS were meant to be played on console. and second graphics for oblivion were better on 360. my pc is pretty good and i have oblivion for both. the 360 one owns hard. problem is the mods for the pc such as rens hairpack and other good playermade mods can't be used in the 360 version. and as for spending $2000 on a computer... well im not that well off in the world. most ppl would probably agree with that. price wise he 360 has the advantage. and as for the thing about ppl leaving after a couple months, clearly you've never actually played an mmo. they r addictive and the way i see it ppl would stay LONGER on the 360... just a thought. but w/e. lastly the monthly fee? um... well i can scratch $50 a year of the bottom of my shoe. but $15 a month is a little harder. it'll be about the same for both pc and 360... so i think as long as 360 has all 4 races then i will chose 360 other ise it's gunna be the PC... yeah. thnx for the help guys... sorta.

Well for starters, PC games are always higher-resolution than console games, so you can't say "this game looked better on xbox" because you're playing it on lower display resolution and usually with lower-resolution textures. PC's also give you the option to tweak the settings to your specifications, so you can decide how many frames per second you want vs how much eye candy (as opposed to console games which typically still aim for 30 fps... which would be ludicrous by pc standards). There are advantages for consoles -- typically outside the FPS genre -- but graphics is not one of them, and by the very nature of their closed systems, never will be.

As for Huxley, it actually seems like they're thinking of using console players in unique ways, as opposed to just sticking them in with PC players as the same type of player. They alluded in some interviews to a few of the ideas, although I'm not sure if those were 100% design decisions or just brainstorming possibilities. I can't remember where it was they said it, but it was one of the more recent articles... but if the gameplay is really as different as they may be hinting, you might even consider playing on both platforms :o

I have a computer that could run Huxley. Got a 360 too.
It's a tough choice for me. Here's a list of pros and cons for the 360.

PRO:
Personally, I like playing shooters on consoles. I feel more comfortable with my controllers. Much more than I do with a mouse and keyboard. I know everyone will argue and say that there is more control with a mouse and keyboard, but that does not matter-because there is no cross platform play. Therefore, CONTROL IS NOT A ISSUE, since you will all be at the level playing field. So it comes down to what you are comfortable with, and it sounds like for you, the controller.

Con:
A keyboard is a necessity in MMOs, even if it is purely for communication, or hotkeys. I don't know if i am willing to spend extra money for the Xbox keyboard or a USB board.

Pro:
Single player campaign and most likely the ability to sign more than one person in on the same xbox-making the experiance more social and friend oriented.

Con:
Probably won't have as big of a following as the PC, meaning clans won't be as interactive, less of an economy. ect. Another con- no mods for the Xbox 360, meaning no newfangled content. (However, since it IS an MMO most likely most mods released will be limited to interface. I could see the Huxley team picking the best of these mods are releasing them over live.)

Pro: Good graphics with the 360, better price. (2,000 for a computer? O.o) Big HDTV screen and bitchin' surround sound, baby! ^^

Con: Possibly BETTER graphics with the PC if you have the money. Put that 400 dollars for your Xbox towards a good computer along with other cash and suddenly you have a machine that can do much more than just play amazing games.

Overall:
I don't know.
As far as game immersion goes, I know the way to go is with the Xbox.
But for game experiance, I think the computer might be on top.
Crackin' out. :D

HDTV + 360 = PC, in terms of price.

2000$US for a PC is going overboard. Especially at this time of the year (summer).

It's probably the opposite. Just look at Halo 2 that came out for PC where gamepad users have auto-aim.

In the end, it all depends on what you are the most comfortable with since, like Van_Cracking mentionned and I'm quoting: "there is no cross platform play".

Control: PC>360 Yes its a matter of choice but come on fps are better on pc especially fast paced ones based on unreal engines.

Graphics: PC>360 Depends on your rig but ultimately pc will look better at launch and have many more tweaks available for optimization.

Community:PC>360 PC players will keep this game going long after the 360 crowd ditches it for Halo 3.

Cost:PC<360 To simply play it its cheaper on 360 nuff said.

Winner:PC-360 Its up to you and you wallet. Do you want to sit on the couch and play on a gamepad than 360 its is. Are you willing to upgrade and get in with the hardcore crowd PC it is.

Honestly. We don't even know what the minimum hardware specs will be to run Huxley effectively on the PC, so how can you even claim to know that it'll be cheaper than an xbox 360? Fact is consoles subsidize their hardware costs by taking a huge loss on the system, so early on in their life spans they actually do have more performance per dollar hardware-wise than PC's. However, that typically only lasts for 6 months to a year or so, before PC hardware advances enough to overtake consoles in performance value.

If you already have an xbox and a nice home theatre system, and you don't have a decent PC, and you don't feel like spending the (I'm guessing few hundred) bucks to upgrade, then that's a personal choice and not a platform-dependent one. I don't have an xbox, I don't have an HDTV, and I have other work-related reasons to upgrade my PC, so that means in my personal situation it makes much more sense to play on PC. That doesn't make 1 platform more valid than the other, it's just how it is for me.

Single player on Xbox is another thing I had forgotten about. It really sounds like the gameplay experience may differ quite a bit between the platforms.

I want to get it for PC not only because it comes out first on it but a pc is much better setup for mmogs IMO. Also ventrilo is much better than the voice system on live. And for FPS I will take a kb/m over a controller anyday.

I just hope I can get enough money to build a fast pc around the time Huxley comes out. I may buy Huxley though or rent for the 360 if I can use my PC Huxley account for both PC and 360 version. Then I could try the game out on both platforms but if I only have one choice then its PC.

IMO

I don't like playing games on PC, (only RTS games) because I think that a handcontroller works a lot better than a keyboard, downloads are safer and A LOT easier on the 360, there's no modding which I love because I won't have to worry about cheaters.

This kind of question you asked is a though one, you won't get an objective answer, this a case of opinions. PC gamers hate controllers because they are used to a keyboard, and same thing for console players, we don't like keyboards. etc etc.

My opinion 360's cheaper and close enough (graphic/lagg etc-wise) to be worth the price, FAR more than a PC, since you have to update and regualry buy new stuff for your PC.
