Default Combat Type

Will this game have some sort of an ut feel to it during combat or will it be more like css/bf2 where more skill is involved. I never cared much for ut fighting style because it seemed like most the time all you had was artards jumping and firing rockets at your feet. Given the circumstance I guess that is a valid tactic though its very simple to kill people. So why use any other gun mid range?

I'm hoping for a slower paced skillful game out of this.

Also are maps going to be bf2 or ut deathmatch sized?

Webzen have said that the game is going to be an FPS-game with lots of pace so don't count on it being slow.

hm. i might try this though i'll be disappointed if all the ut players own me lol. hopefully there will be a nice pve as well.

Nossit: The main focus is on PvP, the PvE part is just a small sidestep from the original game idea, it's there just to add some dept to the game.

I'm hoping for a mix between CS and WoW, both in combat duration and in skill. Good armor, weapons and level should make a difference but not TOO much.

You could be disappointed if you like. However, imagine looking over a battlefield crawling with one hundred players and they all would find the game a better place to play in if...you were corpse. It's an unprecedented player versus player environment.

I think you'll be plenty satisfied.

As it was mentioned earlier, five thousand is a server size estimate.

On another note, maybe it would be a good idea to stop hoping for a "mixture between World of Warcraft and Counter-strike." Having played both games for quite some time, I'm fairly sure the combined force of leet-speak and horrid shrieking voice-chat would trump smoking as the leading source of cancer in the United States.

How about instead we cross our fingers for a fantastic and original gaming experience?

I'm hoping this will be good in both pve and pvp. The fast paced futuristic UT style of playing does not interest me at all though I'll still try this out. Your right arawn I'm hoping for an original gaming experience out of this because right now I'm a little hesitant about this.

I would think that if its a rpg that they would want a little more skill involved so maybe they'll still incorporate this and keep my interest.

Also how is pve a small part of the game? Don't you have to loot weapons and armor? How could it be small if your whole pvp experience will depend on how good of armor and weapons you can get as well as some skill?

hmm would that mean that like... there will fit 5000 players in the same town (techniclly?)

this is an mmo, not a fps like battlefield or counter-strike, there is no maximum amount of people allowed in a battle. it's a world and you're in it, if you want to be in an area where a fights going on you simply go there. there are no "maps", you're in a world. it's gonna be like any other mmo like DAoC, WoW, EQ etc. with the distinct difference that it's first person and a shooter, that's all.

edit: well if murvel is correct about a maximum amount then wow that's pretty flippin lame.

emm..... you're actually wrong. It's an MMOFPS, it will be like battlefield you see from FPS you run around on a map and shot players from a first person view, you can walk around in town(s?), there are servers there's not just a big world, and there are gametypes for maps, you can't fight in the town(s), only on the battlefield.... are you sure that you didn't read about another game?

it would certainly defeat the purpose of calling it an MMO and having servers with different battle types. the battle types were reffered to different scenarios of battle in game such like capture the flag etc. you're still part of your 1 server in that world with those battlefields in that server. if it were otherwise then it would be like calling Diablo an MMO and that's a joke. you talk about maps as if the server is going to end in time and change maps like a battlefield or cs game, i'm sure it doesn't work that way. either way, the max limit of people is lame. where's the world pvp between factions? sounds like a bunch of instance pvp or a similar attempt at planetside. if you happen to be right about what you said then i guess that's just another korean mmo down the drain.

There will be world PvP, however there will also be persistent battlefields for those who want a quick fight. Multiple gametypes help bring in gamers from the different parts of gaming.

thb, this isn't a discussion, not until you've read about the game atleast. There will be a world/server that will fit 5000 players, and there are 2 races which means that the world will be devided in two parts. To reach a battlefield, you eiter walk or drive to a place (lika a space port or station) and then get thrown into a battle - really basicly, i don't know how you will be able to choose what gametype to play but THAT IS HOW IT WILL WORK.
