hey,
i've not seen any evidence to show what the maximum level on the game is?
anyone know anything?

They said 50 initially I believe, with the possibility of expanding it in the future if they think it's necessary.

50 levels will likely help Huxley, since the problem with planetside was that when you got to BR 23 CR 5, you had nothing left to do except raise your kill score.

50 is good for at first, but say, later on, if people with the expansion pack..lvl 85 or w/e meet people without it (lvl 50) or so...slaughter? or segregation based on lvl?

The thing is it actually takes skill to shoot someone whereas in WoW you just hit a button several times and eat food while you do it. Just because you are a high level doesn't mean you won't get owned by the level 1 guy who is good at FPSs.

i agree coz i play a game called gunz i was lvl 6 and i owned this lvl 20 big time

Why cant we have a game that never ends in levels. Exp that never stops, but takes thousands of hrs to achive, only to find out the next level is Ten's of thousands,,,,,,,ect.

This would prevent ppl like you and me from grinding our asses off to be the first to hit the Cap then dominate the relm.

this is something that EVE online has come very close to if not achived allready. The True never ending game, allways something to grind.

However the thing is this won't be level grinding crap, Huxley has more to do with skill than just dots, and grinding. PvP is a part of the leveling process. So it goes like a stairway

Pvp is left, PvE is up so level grinding isn't possible. No more chinese script kitties!!!

I don't care about how high I can go!
I just care about being able to play this game for a long time and not get bored!

(I do this a lot) IN BattleField 2, it was pure skill. At first I couldn't get more than one kill before I died, but I have gone up to only dieing 5 times in the big one hour games and about 50-64 kills (May not be a lot to some) but I like games when you put a twist in it.

One BF2 server (Named TOW) made it that when you use C4 you don't die, but you will fly really high! So you could get up on buildings and snipe people.
It made the way you play different! You would get into a squad and the leader would get up on a high building and everyone would pop up where he is and you could take a base like that.

I would like a high level to get to though! It does add to the fun!

never ending levels kind of miss the point as- it wud just kinda be stupid , there would be nothing else to unlcok no more gameplay, no more quest... so you spend everyday fighting the same monster for 2 years just to lvl up a unreachable lvl, so u can't set your self goals. The only way is to use an expansion pack... adding more vehicles more weapons more to the map and lots more game play , then raising it byt 20 - 40 levels or so... if there neeeds be 2 more sequels then be it.

If I remember right they basically said it's designed to take around 6 months reach the level cap, after which there will be alot of endgame content.

Then again, even when your "level/rank/whatever" will be maxed, you'd still (probably?) always have more skills and/or equipment to go after.

i just hope this game is more skill based than level based...

what i mean is, killing people doesnt depend on your *LEVEL* it depends on your skill at aiming and the skills you use to eliminate your enemy...

i hope they incorperate recoil and other skillful factors into the game to later turn this into a more Competitive game like Counter-Strike 1.6/Source.

the number of levels is irrellavent. how fast you numerically earn XP with relation the the numerical distance between levels is the only thing that matters. whether you earn 1xp per kill or 100xp per kill makes little difference when the numerical distance between levels is 10 or 1000 respectively. in either event you will level at the same rate. That's no to say that the number of levels is pointless having two levels through out the game where you gain all your skills at those two points is bad design. Having a thousand levels and only earning skills once every 100 levels is also pointless. What you should be asking is at what rate will I earn skills? Will it be easy or will it be discouraging to casual players. How many skills will I get overall? how many will i start out with. whats the difference between two consecutive levels what does it mean as far as game play goes. These questions are more important than what is the maxUmum level. Some of you understand this. Personally i would prefer that more maps and battle fields are created that have different bonuses and doodads to explore. rather than adding in "elite" content. many games die because of elite content like high level zones they create a rift between the new and the old making it harder for new blood and new ideas to enter the game. New customizations of armor and weapons as well as new types of play should be the focus of later content not levels.

hopefully they will come out with montlhy new weapons or upgradable add ons like laser gren launcher scope or add sumthn like extended clip or they just come out with new guns

So thats probley based on 3hrs a day 4-5 days a week.

Hmm so the most of us will do it in less then 60days. 30days if your like me and game 60hrs a week
