I'm hardcore fps gamer. I also play WOW since the beginning (and I believe I'm pretty good at it)... Really ancious to see the final product... But I'm not gonna play if there are no professions at all in the game thats for sure! I wanna make my armor thicker, I want extra 5ammunition holder that I built! Or I wanna paint my own clothing and make my sniper scope to look further and I want the option to modify the movement detecion strenght of my radar...
... I Don't wanna just collect thats not MMO... I hope, really really hope the game will not be that really plain, like go quest, go pvp collect xp and collect items from the field/quest givers... Just because I didn't hear anything about this on reviews I read (just reading it now actually)... Any official comment on this please?

Armor customization is most likely the only thing that you're going to see out of all those. They've already mentioned that they want to make Huxley skill based and twitch based. So rare upgrades that increase armor rating or damage are probably not something that you'll see.

from the sounds of things class's will not be in the game, it sounds like at best you will have a ps style system where you pick each thing up individualy and are able to get more as you become a higher level, for instence there are medics in ps but all you need are the 3-5 cert points to be a medic, 3 for basic healing 5 for reviving a downed player before they tap out.
i like to fly and be a medic, so i usualy drop before/after the paratroopers to clear the door of mines etc or after to revive anyone who might have setped on a fiew mines :P

Character development progresses both vertically (Level) and horizonatally (PvP Rank). By engaging in quests and killing the NPCs in the PvE instances you will acquire XP and Level just as you did in WoW. Level will allow you better armor and Equipment every ten levels. You will note that weapons are given a class from A to E. Class E weapons are for Lv1-10, Class D weapons are for Lv11-20 and so on up to Class A weapons which are for Lv41-50. You can also choose a skill from the Leveling Skillset to begin to shape your character's destiny. As you kill Opposing faction players in PvP Instances you gain PvP rank just as you did in BattleGrounds in WoW. With each rank comes the ability to acquire skills from the PvP Skillset which is different than the PvE or Level Skillset. If you only engage in quests and kill NPCs this game will both be boring and you limit the possibilities of your character. If you only engage in PvP you also limit the possibilities of your character and will never see Class A armor. It is imperative that you engage in bothy PvE (Quests/Level) and PvP (Rank) in order to develop your character completely. One thing to note is that when you advance in Level or Rank you do NOT gain hitpoints, or increases in stat points or armor class or any other character advancements that you saw in WoW. You only get access to armor/weapon upgrades and skill choices. With that in mind, a newb with a Lv50 character could get owned by an experienced player with a Lv1 character who has a survival instinct. So the fact that you have access to "skills" makes the game similar to PlanetSide with its "certification" program. The big difference in this aspect is that you can not change your skills as you advance so choose them wisely.

Wow. I'de atleast expect HP increase and the ammount of armor to be carried around increased. I mean the point of leveling up is to get more powerful true but it should be like a scawny man is lv 1 then he levels a few times and is now buff. That should be a HP increase to me. Plus since you earn new weapons you earn new armor as well. So armor can be higher than the basic 100. Maybe even 400 if it's a good item.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I ask that because An experienced player playing a BR4 with HA and REXO can easily own a BR24 with every cert imagineable if the player doesn't know what he is doing. By keeping the abilities equal throughout and providing skills, the game maintains a player balance that promotes the PvPer who has skills and a HIGH END Computer to defeat his opponents quickly and efficiently. I know I for one am going to purchase another Gig of RAM for my machine.

well first off, i would say an experiance player at br 6 because then they can get enhanced targeting so they can see hp of enemys, because frankly though you get hit registry on your x-hairs its still buggy and i like to see how close i am to winning etc...
also i have seen people get pwnt by agile/supressor and i NEVER get rexo, though the extra space would be nice the movement penalties are too much for 100 extra armor. and never say that you know anything about planetside from reading the websight, the thing in the past fiew days got a nice update but still tells you nothing and asside from the forums, is not only completely useless but never seams to get an update (asside from a fiew days ago where they actualy changed the layout... thought i was seeing things at first as the web page hadn't changed since beta i don't think) but yea, no exta hp because if you give out extra hp then your handicaping lowbies too much, extra armor sure, better guns yea but everyone should have the same hp. frankly if i drill threw 400 armor while you havent even geten threw my 50 armor then you deserve to die.

Thx for your comments guys... However we talking about two different things in general I'm afraid. 1thing is the player lvl and another things are professions. If you play wow I don't have to mention this but if you don't:
There are professions separate from your lvl and you need to make your Profession LVL to grow by makind items and using the skill. For e.g. an engineer can make bombs and create screws thus lvl his "skill" in that particular area, engineering. Once he reached a certain lvl (where he made lots of screws) he can't get more higher prof. lvl with that particular item so he need to learn new recepies. So what I mean is that I will definitelly not play this game if no MMO profession in it. Thats not mmo just a fps game, and I will not pay monthly fee for a fps game that has a little more strat elements (and time sink features like mmo's). I rather buy UT2k6 and play that... You know what I mean guys? For you, FPS gamers the game surely look amazing and feature-stuffed... But from MMO view this is weak, really week. IF this is the final case, and we dont have professions only "skills".

From what I have seen Hope, they don't intend on doing player professions. I agree that crafting armor and or possibly weapons would enhance game play, but it appears they have no intention of doing so.

As long as the weapons, equipment and skills are VERY numerous and diverse, I think there is enough diversity to give everyone something to shoot for and there is really no need for professions. So you could, for example, focus on long range weaponry and stealth skills to make a sniper-oriented character, or heavy equipment and armour to make a strong tank-like character, or maybe stealth and telepat |
