Well, webzen probably had a contract with microsoft to make a version for the xbox 360 a long time ago, probably before the PS3 was even announced, so that might be a reason it won't be out for the PS3.

Actually I believe that the PS3 wouldn't gibe them a significant difference in sales. Becuase the system is not as huge yet. I do not know how the online capabilities are on it but I believe their is not a version of "Xbox live" which makes the idea of huxley very good, (Voice communication etc). But this is all speculation. But going to PS3 will create a potential larger game population.

The PS3 largely has no consumer base in America and other parts of the world. Microsoft is ahead of all consoles, but the Wii is gaining fast. PS3 has major flaws which hinder most consumers from buying it. It's price is insane for one thing, not a lot of people are going to shell out 600 for a console plus money for the games, which leads me to the second thing, there are not many good PS3 exclusives. Sure Resistance and some others are PS3 only, but many games moved from PS3 exclusive to the 360 or Wii as well. Assassin's Creed, one of the more promising games coming out, was originally for the PS3, but now is for 360 as well. Even if you are still a Sony fanboy after all of this, you should notice that at major game retailers there are always PS3s available. The only time PS3s were out of stock was when people were buying them then selling them on Ebay for a profit.
To sum it up, there is no reason Webzen should waste a year to get a small portion of gamers to purchase Huxley.

microsoft wouldn't let a game go to one of its biggest competitors. besides i bet they're using huxley to promote windows live, vista pc's version of xbox live, that enables cross platform play with the 360

I can't tell if you're bashing MS for releasing games on only their system, but let me say this no company would EVER intentionally give part of the market share to any other company. Sony won't give Resistance to 360, MS won't give Huxley to PS3.
With the Vista exclusive thing, I am not going out and buying vista for ANY game. It's way to expensive and extremely buggy. I wouldn't know if Webzen will allow XP to play as well, but if not they are loosing a lot of customers who would be unwilling to switch to Vista.

Let me point something out to you. Cross platform games = hard work. They are not going to spend a year to work on a PS3 version.

Im going to agree with zeekgenateer. They arent going to spend all that money and work on it that long just so that it can go to PS3 that may possibly have a good bit of consumers in the future. Chances are they would spend more money making it for PS3 than getting from it. Lexington I am not bashing you but you can never be completly sure of anything especially in the game industry. They could make it for PS3 but they probly wont.

When it comes to porting console games to pc and vice versa, Microsoft is king. They have the resources in both markets to ensure a successful and eased transition.
Microsoft also has a tendency to gain complete exclusivity with any game it's involved with. That being said, I haven't heard any word of how involved Microsoft is on this project. They are neither the developer or the publisher, so I can only imagine it's minimal--I'm not sure where all this Microsoft/Huxley sentiment is coming from. I have a Xbox 360 and soon will soon have a shiny new copy of Windows Vista. I hate Microsoft, with a passion. |
