Does Anyone Else here hope to See Gore? I'd Like to See Something Along the Lines of Gears Gore, But More Pixel - Exact. Such as shooting him right on his neck causes blood to spurt out as such. An Eye Shot pops a hole through His Head right on his eye... A Shotgun Blast to the Gut Either Blows hgim in Half, or causes a Cone Shaped Chunk to be lost from him... This Would make some great finishers, and would of course only be true if it was Either a Head Shot , a 1 Hit Kill such as a shotgun at Point blank, or hitting someone on very low Health Hard with a Machine Gun. This would also Make the Battlefield pretty dirty, And this would make some pretty Messed up barricades if we could drag the body parts back to a doorway or hall, or somewhere Where They Could be used. Does Anyone like this idea?

Its ok but i mean you got to draw the line somewhere. Gears is a great game (have played it myslef) but, where looking at online game you don't know if a 6year old is playing. Gears was graphic and i think the line will be drawen way below that

My friend's seven year old brother plays Gears
I would like to see more gore than they usually put in an FPS, like more realistic blood-spatter on the walls (like it drips down a bit rather than just sits there looking like a shot from a can of red spray paint). But ya i agree you have to consider the game rating. and since it's MMO they're going to want the biggest crowd possible. I think a rating of 'T' is as low as you can go as far as a modern FPS goes. It's the rating that Planetside got and the lowest rating that allows 'violence', which they define as 'Scenes involving aggressive conflict' It also has to include 'minimal blood' :( Once you go into serious gore you get a rating of 'M', which pretty much allows anything short of what they put on late-night cinemax M= 'Graphic and realistic-looking depictions of physical conflict. May involve extreme and/or realistic blood, gore, weapons and depictions of human injury and death' ESRB Ratings Guide Last edited by 187 Phantom; 28-04-2007 at 11:06 PM. |

I think they should do gears of war gore, where little chunks of the person fly off as you shoot him, and a head shot makes his head explode. That would be awsome. Some great finishers too, especially if you can curb stomp.

Why do you need gore, gore is not really a big part of a MMO and shouldn't be. The client side will be as strained as it could be with the UT3 engine to add realistic gore everywhere. And don't even think about saying server side.

Its not that I care if little kids play but they are so annoying. if they didnt act immature all the time and didnt go out of their way to p*** me off and werent so bad at playing I wouldnt care at all.
Back to the subject it would be nice to have a good bit of gore like chunks on gears and other things but I doubt they will do that because of what others said they will probly aim for the T rating so it would be sold to alot more people. I would really like to see gore like on gears though mainly because its awesome and you could say to a friend "dude did you see me blow that guy into pieces with my shotgun!" I definaly hope the rocket launcher blows them into lots of chunks like the Boomshot on gears. |

If this game doesn't have gore it would kind of ruin part of the experience I am really hoping for. If it has guns there needs to be some sort of gore, this is not Pokemon. No need for blood splatting on the screen or anything, and I wouldn't expect them to aim for T seeing as most kids who are gonna play it are probably spoiled and their parents wont care about the rating as long as there "baby" gets what they want.

Give it an AO Rating... So Parents ( Other than Mine ) Will have to think weither to let them buy this game, or watch some sissy stuff like ' Gone with the Wind ' Or ' Saw '.... All I'm Asking is stuff like gears, but Realistic blood, not that Crappy PURPLE Blood that came out of the Locust AND Humans. THAT Was retarded. Second Post: That, and gore indoors would make for some crazy moments if blood interacted with people, like a blood spatter hits a guy in his eyes, blurring his screen for a moment. I'd Go in, find a group of two guys, shoot oe, splattering him, then get behind the other one while he's Blurred, and Bash him in the Back.... Note: If There's Not gore... Put Bones cracking, because if a guy falls off a building, he Ain't Not gonna break a bone.

You have great ideas, but at this state in technology, that kind of intractability with the environment puts too much weight on servers. I'm all for great graphics, but I'd rather have gameplay than graphics and gore. Wouldn't you?

I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of gore, but only if it's client-side processed and has a level-of-detail setting for computers that lack top of the line graphics cards. Otherwise too much model and graphic rendering would just detract from the gameplay, as zeekgenateer has stated.
Though the option for higher graphics should be there for people interested in making movies, etc. |

For me, Gore is a big plus.
I just Hate to see games where you 'hit' someone but doesn't have that feel. The same thing is with grenade / rocket explosions and impact radius's etc. For example you take a game like CS 1.6, they didn't have the "explosion" feeling. Now when you take a look at F.E.A.R., there was this part where i was in slomotion and i threw my grenade into someones face. And the impact from that explosion was amazing, i really felt i completely destroyed his body with that thing. I know this is going offtopic but just to explain to you that having your weapons look like they actually "HURT" people is just very important to me. If you take a look at 2k7 headshots, /applaud. Those are the things i would like to see in this game. And since it's build on the U3 engine i can only say my hopes are high that they will. -Dyna, |

I would also like to see some gore into the game. I'm sure the line between people who want gore and people who don't want it, is the same line that is drawn between those who play mainly FPS and those who play mainly RPG games.
Those who play FPS want to see the most intense action they can get, throw some blood and exploding bodies in there, it makes it even better. Those who play RPGs are probably more for the storyline or just don't think that it's necessary. Personally, I would like to see some gore, I think it kind of takes away from the game when the only thing you see when you hit someone is like a little firework explosion like in some MMORPGs. I'm wondering if anyone knows how long dead bodies will stay on the ground after they die. That would be awesome if they stuck around for a while just to give the feel that a giant battle took place here. WoW actually did that pretty well by leaving skeletons behind after the dead person rezd and went on their merry way. When huge world PvP battles used to happen all over, you could tell because you would just be walking along and then all of the sudden you would see a huge field filled with hundreds and hundreds of skeletons. It would be nice if they had something like that in Huxley, either just leaving the bodies there all together, or at least leaving something behind to show there was a big fight there. Huge piles of massacred dead bodies would be amazing lol |
