Hi Voltage[MP3] and welcome to the forums.

You can say that the game is a combo between conventional FPS-games such as the Quake- and Unrealseries and MMO-games like WoW and Planetside. Some things might look like Battlefield, but that's purely coincidental.

Btw, I'm moving this thread to a more suitable section. Feel free to use the search-button since many of the most common questions have been answered already, at least to the extent that we know of.

It's like Planetside, not Battlefield. It does not have a lot of small private servers, but a couple of large ones for 5k people per one server.

Does the PvP work like you have to load to the battlefield or will it be fluid?

Because the EU3 can download maps realtime.

Default Huxley And Planetside

most if not all of the battle spaces will be instances, like dungeons in WoW. there will be specific missions you can complete to unlock new skills. we dont believe that there will be 'attribute points' or 'higher level players' but there will be tons of ways to customize you guy. we know there will be at least 9 types of weapons with tons of individual weapons under those types. you will take 5 peices of armor into battle and each one will have one slot that you can put a 'skill' into. there will be over 100 skills, some of which include sprint, double jump, headshot resistance. in game there are 3 unit sizes, 4 guys make a squad. several squads make a platoon. several platoons make a company. the largest battles in the game have 100 players to a side with vehicles including hover bikes, tanks, apcs and at least a few kinds of aircraft all fighting it out in huge battlefields. there will be pvp as well as pve missions and the creators have hinted that their may also be some sort of combination of the 2, pvevp. the results of the battles will effect the world in real time, so if a powerplant is captured by the enemy, the lights will go out in part of the city. there will be marketplaces to buy and sell weapons, armor and any other items as well as clans.

am i leaving anything out or is that about everything we currently know about the game?

"Does the PvP work like you have to load to the battlefield or will it be fluid?

the maps will be huge, think gigabites of information, no way to stream that amount of data in real time all while having good hit detection and low ping for everyone.

I read that when you ride a train to a certain battlefield you don't have to go through a loading screen. You just sit in the train with everyone else, you can even talk and jump around or whatever as the train travels/loads to the battlefield. I read it off that information compilation somewhere on these forums, don't know if it's all true but thats what it says, and most of the other stuff on their I have read before on other sites so I assume it all to be true.

Ya in one of the videos the guy says that when your being brought to a battlefield instead of load screen your just inside a APC and can talk to the other people going to the same battle and stuff.

Well, supposedley, it's supposed to be a Quake/CS type MMO, where they have elements from both, but it's not really supposed to be like Planetside. The whole worlds not a battlefield. There are only three safe zones. And there are quests you can play, along with AI monsters, unlike Planretside, where your only enemy is the other factions, and you make your own missions. But that doesn't mean I hope it's totally not like Planetside. I hope there are drop pods, where you drop from space into a battlefield(hopes and dreams, that's all), and I hope there are an array of vehicles for every situation.

Drop pods were awesome, hopefully they have something like that for later in the game or something. Like it could be a luxory you pay for or get an upgrade for or whatever. That would be neat.

Does anyone have any more info on being able to make your own missions. I know you can do so and have other people do stuff for you and you list what you will give them in return or something. But is it just like, "Get me a [insert armor piece here] , and i'll give you 500000[insert form of currency here]" or will it be more than that?

I would LOVE to see some quests that we can all make that include killing members of an opposing faction and that are from a certain clan. such as "kill 20 members of the Forum Legion clan and i'll give you 500[insert currency]" where you just go kill 20 people from that clan. And even more awesome would be having bounty quests. Those are always sooo much fun and add a lot of excitment to the game(maybe someone is comming after you!) such as: "Find and kill Grind and i'll give you 200[insert currency]" maybe even have ones to be like "Find and kill Grind 10 times" just to make sure the job gets done

It's always fun to have little extra things you can do like that, so hopefully Huxley will have plenty of them

That'd be sweet, get newbs to help you take out rival clan members, and a dot where they were in the last 5-10 mins or shorter if they are in a city, or heavily populated area. If there were clan wars where you could fight in the streets and recruit mercs to help you that'd be cool.

I'm sure there will be some clan rivalries that leed to some nice clan battles, and it would be sweet to like hire some people to just follow you around and help you wherever you go lol. A personal body guard if you will

I'm wondering if you could also hire NPCs. They'd be cheaper than other players, but not as effective (NPC level cap etc etc). There was something like this in SWG, not sure if they still have it cause I sure don't play it anymore. CURSE YOU SONY ONLINE! LUCASARTS SHOULD RUN THE GAME THEMSELVES!

hahaha yea SWG pretty much went down hill and kept going.

I don't think they would let you use NPC body guards for the PvP battles since they will have a cap on how many people can get in and it might take up space or something.

But maybe for the PvE missions, if you can't find a full group you can higher an NPC to just shoot at stuff or something. That would be nice. Even though NPC's tend to be stupid and just mess things up, like if you're gathering yourself from an intense battle they go running off and bring a whole bunch of enemies your way when your not ready lol.

Do you mean, is there money that you spend in the game? If so then yes I'm pretty sure you do. Since I'm pretty sure you can buy guns and armor

highly doubtful.
the only games that do that that im aare of are downloadable F2P games that offer items and things like that for real money to keep the game running.
P2P games don't have that problem.
However, some people sell their WoW equipment and characters on ebay (even though your not supposed to). I hope Huxley doesnt suffer that problem.
