Default Perma Death?

Just want to get everyones opinions on this one. What's your thought about Perma-death? Not as in perma-death your character is done, but as in you're out for the rest of that scenario/mission Sure almost everyone is going to hate it, but look at the logics, it would be stupid to have everyone re-spawning every five seconds.

It's just stupid, it would be hard to get anything done, because if they all spawn back at a base and someone's in that base, boom they're dead. Unless these people are making it, so there are a few god-like player characters in the game, it shouldn't happen.
Or maybe only a certain number of re-spawns, but instead of being able to spawn at your main base, you can spawn at a forward outpost, or small outpost base. I think its only fair to spawn at your main base at the start of the scenario.

Those are just my thoughts and reasoning, anyone else can put in their opinions of course.

Maverick out.

I think it depends on where you are an what you are doing. If you are in an instanced arena battle, then of course you should respawn immediately; just like any fast-paced, deathmatch type FPS. If you are in the normal world (If they decide to have PvP outside of arenas) then you should probably be forced through some proceedure before you are revived (IE: WoW, SWG)

I wouldn't mind perma-death in scenario settings.
If it's DM type gameplay we'll be getting (I.E. Quake, RTCW, etc.) then no; perma-match death is out of the question.

The way is should honestly work, is you spawn all the way back at your base side of the map no matter what. There should be no FOB type respawn points on the map. IMO.

The longer it takes to respawn / get back to the fight the more camping there will be ingame. People are just too afraid to die. That's not going to happen since this is going to be a fast paced action game in the same ballpark as Quake and UT.

Indeed. I think some large scall battle instances will be similar to BF2's conquest mode. You spawn at certain key points controlled by your team, and advance this way to the ennemy's base.

Just solve this problem by making the respawn times longer each time the player dies.....I have played Counterstrike and i dont like the style where you die once you have to sit and watch the rest of the match get played out.
