Please use the search feature next time before posting.
For that matter, just looking around a bit would've given you the answer, but since you posted, I'll go ahead and give it to ya here. Since the game is based on the Unreal Tournament 3 game (both games use the Unreal Engine 3), you can expect a UT2k4 experience from it. |

no, i disagree... it's not run on gameplay by UT 3 engine.... Graphics are run by UT3, and it AINT Quake... so....I'm leaning toward...in all honesty, Gears gameplay, ( Also gameplay not run by UT ) with cover and all that... with hundreds more dudes....

"Strafe jumping" actually refers to Quake's (and 1 or 2 other games adopt it too I believe) method of momentum-based movement.
But yea it doesn't look like there's any dodging in Huxley. And Halo is slowed way down because it's dumbed down to be easy enough for anyone and their 4 year old cousin to play. Ever notice how practically everyone who plays Halo thinks they're the best player in the entire world? :P |

If you want to play a game with cover, there's kill.switch.
It's multiplatform (PC included), and uses a cover system, with blind fire as well. I only played a demo of it, but it seemed fun. Review: http://pc.ign.com/objects/619/619285.html Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wsW_mqPUFo (I don't think it shows the blind fire) |

"strafe jumping" in UT2k4 is called dodgejumping. and yes as some poster allready stated strafejumping is from quake, and u can nothing alike strafejump in UT2k4, but u can Dodgejump in ut2k4.
if u read FAQ's on the website (the website this forum is on) then they will tell u its ut2k4 based.... and no that dont mean its a copy of ut2k4 in a mmorpg world, but its alike... if its the movement or weapon style or something els we dont know... and eitherway who would tell me huxly is not alike ut2k4? (it dont mean its a 100% copy) at least lets get it the right way, it looks alike ut2k4. another thing, someone said u cant strafe/dodge jump or at least we havnt seen it in a video yet.. and yeah we havnt, but now take a look at ut2k7 movie... he dont dodge at all either, and im pretty sure u can in ut2k7. anyway how many "prewiev" vedio's have u seen ppl play well ? its just look abit around shoot a thing or to, and the end of that. |

I swear i have read at places huxley will have dodge movement like ut2k4???? no 2k4 movement is news to me. They must have changed it because i swear it said the game would.

Well the developers have said that they are building the game around the classic DM style gameplay of games like the Quake and Unreal series. But nothing has necessarily shown that the dodge itself will appear. We've only heard that double jump will be an ability that can be gained, and we've seen movies of people moving relatively quickly but without any special movements.
I wouldn't expect to see it, but that doesn't mean they definitely won't put it in... we just have no evidence that they will. |

i hate that *Censored Word**Censored Word**Censored Word* strafe jump, and run 100mph everywhere, stop crying about halo, its a greatly made game, just the kids and mods made it suck... if wanted to go fast i would play racing games not shooting games...

Pretty much nobody who played any FPS game before Halo, likes Halo (multiplayer).
The single player was kinda cool and the co-op was fun. But the game is very much simplified to appeal to a broad audience, and not to have lots of depth. This is why most people who have played other FPS games for years don't like Halo; it's essentially a boiled-down version of the genre that was made to be easy to play on consoles. |

I'd rather play other games than Halo (not just because I don't have Live). I prefer PC games because they last longer and you can edit them and do what you will. Console games force you to play their way or not at all. I mean Halo may be the best multiplayer for the console, but that does not make it the best FPS of all time. If you only play console games you really haven't gotten all of the FPS's out there for you to make a decision. I personally believe CoD:UO was the best FPS. Don't ask me why, I won't be able to back it up, but I've always come back to that game after a while.
