Religious Cults

Its been along time since ive been on but it looks like people are still discuzing my scuicied bomber post a long time ago, but anyway i dont know if anybody posted something like befor but i kinda thought it would be cool if you could start your own religon in the game and get a mass of followers if it was anygood. it kinda be like a guild but it be for religon instead. you could still be in a clan or guild and be apart of the religon but if you wante to to yoou can be a priest class for that religon and your charecter would have rob( might be spelled wrong) with the symbol of your church on it and the class would allow you to prech and recruit followers. and on the battle field they would still have a wepon but they could also pray and depending on the lvl of the preist they would give the followers of your religon in the battle grounds more abilitys like you get a little bit more life or stuff like that.

I personaly think this is a great idea cuz ive always thought makeing my own religon would be asome.

How is Webzen supposed to implement this into the game. There isn't really a point to add such a pointless extra. If you really wanted to start a religion it's not that hard. Find a bunch of clueless and gullible people and convince them to join. Otherwise I doubt this would be added to Huxley and most likely other RPGs because of the possible controversy it would cause.

So have your own god, like a god os redemtion and you kill,kill,kill. Or a god of peace and all you do is TEAMWORK! have rules for the religion, etc?

YEA im not saying they should put it in huxley since its to far along but im saying i think that would be cool if it was in a game.

damn i love the idea, even tho it wont get implanted, then it could be amazing to make a "player made" religion, if alot of ppl would go RPG in this part, then maybe it could involve and somewhat infect the game maybe? like when exspasions come? even if it never takes a part of the game, then its still nice

Its a ok idea, though its robes, and thumbs up :P just glad you didn't spell it raligon , but on the idea its self it would cause to much controversy for Webzen to put it in game. :(

I would disagree with this idea, primarily because then everyone would want to be priest for the extra abilities, and then there'd be a bunch've priests but no followers, aside from that I get plenty of religion crammed down my throat when people walk door to door in my neighboorhood saying thier with Jahova's witness and they want me to go to thier church etc... I usually just nod and send them on my way though *shrugs* sunday's are usually reserved for gaming anyway (and it becomes a valuable day when you work 6 days a week)

id say theyd have to put a limet on preist like thered be so many preist for a certin amount of followers, like for every 10 or 20 followers thered be a preist. and there would be negatives for being a preist you got to spend most of your time praying and worshiping so you could gain lvl and learn new things.

hmm, i got a way to make it sort of a fair ammount of priests, u have to earn the tittle? like from other games u can be a hero ect, by mastering ur type of class.

so lets say 5 ppl can be priests in each faction at a time, and u need to "fight" for keeping ur status, in that way there wont be any dead religions, and there will come new idea's at all time, as there will be priests changes from time to time.

bare over with my short desciption, but my english is to poor to go into details about this

lets say once every X months/weeks/days there would be chosen 5 new priests, and ppl would vote ect. then the priests might also be more serious about there "job", and ofc ppl would be able to be repicked if ppl liked him thats kinda logical.

just alittle exstra idea to the main idea ^^

yea but if you do it like that 5 preist for a religon with 5000 followers dosnt seem balanced. and plus some people wont vote and even if you did a good job you might have abeif with someone because theres some people that are assholes and dont vote for you jsut cuz they dont like you and they could get all there friends in it to vote agianst you and you dont get elected. but i do like the idea of haveing to earn the class of preist. but youved have to spend X time praying and X time in a church and have to d oX amount of good deads befor you get awarded the rank.

im abit confused now, u was thinking that u could chose to be a priest if u was clan leader? or something ?

i was more thinking of religions without clans included, but that might also be hard to show what religion ur into without clans and stuff, but in the other hand, then i would never join a clan bc of religion choise.

i had a expseriance from a mmorpg called Ryzom, there was some "priests" (gm's played them) as real char's they hold meetings where ppl could come and hear what they had in mind, u could ask question and such, getting into there political actions and such, protecting them from town to town to held more speaches, and get more forllowers ect. that was pretty cool something simular was my thought, but just played by "normal" players, and not GM's.... maybe 50/50 RP stuff, but it could also have effects on the game tho in some way?

everyone here wants asome combat from this game but its also a mmo so the religoius cult thing could add to the depth of the game. so you dont get board of it as quickly the combat will make it a fun game thats fps part but theresa the mmo part and basicly the relgious cult part would add to the reality and depth to the game.
