Default Dying

Anyone know what consequences you get for dying in PVE yet? Loss of xp, skills, armor,etc...?

That is a very good question. i never thought about that. because there was only really one well known MMOFPS and that is planetside. and even they didnt have a penalty for dying. But then again that game was entirely PvP. So now that you mention it, really pondering that myself.....Either a loss of XP, XP Debt, or damage to armor and weapons. OR worste case scenario, a loss of an item.

Well I am a World Of Warcraft player and the system used for that is armour damage which you then have to get repaired if you die too many times or your armour gets super weak.

Am pretty sure you wont lose anything because then people would not be as motavated to play if they are just gonna lose what they have worked for.

EQ2 player here, in there you get XP debt and armor damage. After 10 deaths you would completely lose your armor if you didn't get it repaired inbetwen.

So long as you can't lose any levels from death I'm good. This is more of an FPS and I don't feel a you should be penalized so much from dying, if anything I'm hoping for the guild wars style temporary menalty, money paid for armor repairs from dying = money that will forever be gone from your pocket, exp lost may be regained but it's still a certain amount of time taken to regain that exp that you will never get back, over time after X amount of death's with either system it took X amount of time out of your life to regain the XP or money lost... in general I prefer the guild wars one because it's not like it's anything that you permanently lost or not like it sucked out any more of your time to regain whatever it is that was lost.

LOL good ol runescape. I cant see how people still play that game lol...but i certainly hope the death system in runscape isnt applied to huxley

**forgot to mention that when you died on RS due to pve you kept 3 things and other people could get your stuff... when you died because of pvp (if you had crossbones) you lost all of your stuff...

I still remember PKing in the wilderness back when there were only 4 servers. good times...when graphics didnt mean anything lol

Seeing how this is a FPS, and that you will probably die... A LOT. There should only be EXP penalties in PvE, while there are no penalties in PvP

well that's why I avoided that game and the loss of EXP is partly why I quit EQ a long, long time ago heh. Also tried FFXI but they had the same exp loss, which never made any sense to me really.

The graphics were the Sh*t man! My eyes stopped bleeding after only 2 weeks! hehe

Also I wouldn't mine a RS style of a death penalty...I just will run around naked all the time...to the pleasure or complete disgust of all the female players....and gender confused guys playing female characters.
