Default Second Thoughts

I've been waiting for Huxley as much at the next person, but what if I want to know more about the game before actually purchasing it? I mean, stuff like how balanced the 3 classes are, in the PvP system is there a ladder ranking that keeps track of skill level and puts you against people who are around your skill level? and how soloable is PvE content? how fast are the PvE group missions?

What I'm getting at is, I would like some way of trying out the game temporarily before deciding on purchasing it or not, maybe a trial account or the like, to see if it's worth buying right away or if I should wait till they balance things out some more like I should've done for WoW.

There will probably be some type of demo, or an open beta before the game is officially released.

I have read alot about Huxley, and i can answer you a few things, just from all the stuff ive read and all my previous experience with FPS games.

First off I want to let you know that I put myself in all shoes, and look at it from all points of view.

Choosing a class can be frustrating. From what they tell us, you can use any gun regardless of class, only the effectiveness of the guns you use would change, the ones your more proficient in would be the best to use of course. When we talk about PvE, you should choose any class you think is fun, thats what it really comes down to anyway. However, if you look at all the information giving, Enforcer would be your best PvP choice, Its High damage, and Tuff Armor make it a walking Fortress, and not only that, it gets a 300% speed boost for several seconds. Now of course, this doesnt mean the other classes are nessacarly weaker, but if you place yourself in all shoes. Lets think of an example.

...If you take an Enforcer, Versus a Phantom, you have a quick but tuff fight. Right off the bat, the Phantom has the best Advantage by using its Cloaking device, making it invisible to opponents. In a field of Grass or a sandy desert, a Phantom could easily pick anyone off. However most battle arenas we have seen have plenty of obstacles around them, which works in Favor of the Enforcer. From the information givin to us, you would have to 2-shot a Enforcer minimum to kill it(head shots). Right off you can tell that if its going to take you more then 3 shots, he can easily discover your position, and shorten the distance between you within seconds with his speed boost.

...Now i dont mean to diss on the Phantom class of course. generally when i think about it, i believe most people in the game will start out as Avengers(majority of people anyway), becuase it seems like the most well balanced class for anything. A phantom vs an Avenger, Phantom has the overall Superiourity in almost all cases(almost all). Of course were talking an a 1 on 1 fight. By the time the Avenger knows of your position, he will be dead.

The Avenger class isnt suposed to be mistaken for a weak class at all, when it comes down to An Avenger, they have medium armor and are very skilled at medium range guns(Assualt Rifle types), their special ability is to be able to see how much hitpoints their enemy has left, which is a very good skill. being able to see your opponents life, lets you pre-determine the right course of action...can i kil him before he kills me?, should i back off and heal up?, how many rounds will i need to use up?... Now of course both the Enforcer and Phantom have a great Advantage over an Avenger, it must also be realized, that Avengers are ones that travel in groups, and thats where their strength ultimatly rises. One Enforcer vs. a Squad of Avengers, could easily kill at least 1 of them at the risk of his own life, the same goes for the Phantom.

-----------------------

I'm sure the PvE content will be very easily soloable in the beggining, and may even have a few at later levels, however i believe that if you want the good stuff, exp and loot, traveling in large groups for the hard quests will get you more *Censored Word**Censored Word**Censored Word**Censored Word*. No Risk No Reward.

not sure about much else you listed.

They will most likely have a trial ala EQ2 for people like you who wanna try it out and see if it's any good first.

You will know more about the game. As soon as there website is out and they give official information out, you will know a lot more than you need to know

It's an MMO, and being bug free upon release is impossible. Look at WoW, they're still coming out with patches. I don't think if you wait a year before you play, that the game mechanics and balancing would change so much as to not be anything close to the originally released game

It depends on what Webzen decides. In my opinion an open beta with a limited number of slots would be a good idea because let's face it if everyone who liked it got it then told their friends the servers might get too packed for only the few servers they will have.

Though if they don't have an open beta I wouldn't be highly surprised. It all depends on if Webzen pulls a Sony Online and ruins the game.

As soon as we get closer to the release date they will start releasing information from the TOP SECRET vault. It's just the waiting that is the problem. I'm hoping that this game is not as expensive as WoW because if it is I won't be able to play it. I'll just have to wait and see.

I wouldn't say that you are wrong, but how could you know that? First of all, the class is important, of course, but the items (weapons, armor, etc) will make a big difference in the fights. Also, the most important thing is how the player's aiming is good. If the player knows how to play well with his/her favorite class, I personally think that it is the best way to take out your ennemy. I guess we will have to wait for webzen to give us more info..

yes, of course, its all about how good your skill is versus the skill of your enemy. however, if stated from what i explained as if i was standing in all shoes, generally meaning, if i had to fight myself, or fight someone evenly skilled( tho i consider myself to by a highly skilled person with FPS).

As I said earlier it just depends on how assholish the bigwigs at Webzen decide to take the game. If it is going to be really expensive picking between college or Huxley would be a no brainer. Also it depends on how much would the monthly fee be. I'd be fine with five dollars a month but fifteen? I'm a poor jobless student who's parents aren't that generous. I can't afford that. All we can do is hope.
