I am not sure if that was a smart sale on Webzen's behalf due to what happened with them in the past. for those who don't know, educate yourselves here

That would kill the game if you have to pay by the hour AND a monthly fee like WOW as this wont be as big as wow, i doub't even close to wow. God i hope it doesn't happen, i've looked forward to this game for a LONG time!!!! I aint going to pay probably 15-20 bucks with hourly charges. I'll pay monthly, but not for hourly rates...that's just plain stupid! buncha money grubbing thieves. That and they take forever to update and fix problems?

Point is - it seems that any game that is run by The9 in China gets a bad reputation in that region *shakes head.* It really is sad that this entire game will possibly have a bad rep in an entire area like that because of something that isn't Webzen's doing, as well as something that Webzen has no control over (now that the rights have been sold anyway).

As posted already, The9 is strictly an asian based company and will not effect us.
The news is good if you think about it though because if $35 is being paid out for these rights to Huxley then bloody hell it has to be a fairly great game. I think that kinda money is huge to ANY company so if you see my point it is suggestiong only good things for the game right? |

Webzen is far from debt, I own a 100 shares of webzen stock. from time to time there stock drops but for the most part it has been a steady increase in value. Remember that they have several huge titles alreayd out in asia and they run thousands of PC bangs in korea. PC Bang is like an internet cafe. I lived in korea for 6 years and spent alot of time in the PC bangs. They stay open all night and you can drink liquor and smoke in most of them. Good place to go after the bars close. With a country the size of indiana with 50 million people in it. their consumer base just in korea is enough to get them by. Figure from the 35 million from the china deal and in game ads, i am sure we won't have to pay alot to play. But that is probably entirely dependent on Webzen america and not webzen korea for us north america players. It will probably be free in korea and used to get people into the PC bangs who will then have to pay hourly fees to use the computers. That is where most of these hourly fees come from. People pay to use the computer for an hour not to play the game for an hour.

If it doesn't affect me playing Huxley, then I don't care. As long as the monthly fee is under $20, I don't care. That's what everyone should think, in my opinion.

North American players will have to worry about webzen america and how they run business. the9 will not effect us. Most asians countries they do business different. not everyone can addord to buy a PC and get an internet connection. So most people play via internet cafes, which is awesome in some aspects. when I lived in korea we would stay up all night drinking soju and smoking in the internet cafe playing counter strike. They we open 24/7 and after 10 pm we could drink in most of them. But for a game that has montyhly fees it can suck. you have to pay by the hour to use the computer and pay for the monthly fee. Webzen actually runs 100's of internet cafes in korea and make a killing between those and the subscription fees
