yes, again.
An MMO of this scale will have to keep up servers. It costs money, which in turn means we provide the money. Also, I would prefer monthly fees because it means updates, new content, fixing the things that break and making better the things that don't :D |

MMO's are long term games, and to keep bringing out new content, fixing existing problems, and just basically keeping the servers running, it costs money. |

Well in my honest opinion it is not going to be free to play because there are very few modern MMORPG/MMOFPS games that are free to play now, also you have to remember that the servers are going to need paying for and also the 24/7 staff that will be modorating and creating content for the game.
The question I have no clue about is just how much it will be if there is a fee, nothing I say is official but it is just my conclusion. |

A MMO company has to regain its R&D portion so there has to be some sort of plan to recapture this initial investment. Also, they would be foolish not to have a method in which to gain profits via online play. I have heard it said that R&D is paid off with the sale of the game itself were as the profits come from a monthy fee.
Also, I would like to remind you all there are ways to get around a monthly fee. Guild Wars is a free monthly MMO that offers updates every few months at full game price. |

Considering it's a new engine and they're adding their own netcode to it, not to mention trying to create rather extensive gameplay content, I don't think it's taking particularly long.
I'll always point to UT2007, which is being developed by the same folks who developed the engine, and thus you would expect would be the most efficient at creating content for it. And that game isn't expected until late Spring. |

The amount of money the game costs per month is the opposite of the amount of cheaters in the game. Noone (at least in his right mind) wants to spend 50 bucks for a game and then 25 per month just to be able to cheat.
Think about it. |

People pay hundreds of dollars to cheat in videogames already.
And that's in OLD games that not that many people even play. I've heard of people buying cheats to use in the UT (yes the original one) DEMO! Some folks just have money to burn, and if those same folks are the types that want shortcuts, they'll pay whatever it costs. |

I wonder How Guildwars gets away with no monthly fee.
Maybe its just the fact they update every 6 months or so and very little media has to be used because most just download it. However they do it it sure make sense. |
