Well, if you want realism, you are not going to be able to jump (think about it, a gun and 60+ pound backpack, I don't think so), but Huxley is not exactly realistic, so I'm not complaining. I just hope it's not extremely fast-paced like UT 2004 was. I know a lot of people like that, but it's just not my preference.

well i want the close combat to be quick but i also want the to be alot of tactics in the game. so like you have to plan everythin out. then youslowly move in and then all in a matter of seconds you charge in firing.

thats what im hoping for . i love the gameplay video, but i do hope you can snipe from buildings etc without easily being found . Hopefully withh have a radar system similar to other games . where you dont appear if ur are still , or crouched etc

Also ... do you reckon alot of the buildings will be accessable. I hope so . Hate big cities with like 5 buildings you can go into...

Some of you people make no sense. Fast paced does not = no tactics.

i kind of hope they change it and make it more like CS though a little more face paced like BF 2 or somthing cause i have been trying the unreal demo and in its combat cover really doesent matter that much which i dont like though the faster paced combat isent to bad.

While I myself see no problem with jumping, (having good aim). I dont think that pvp has to be like this, i think that bunny hopping and everyone carrying a rocket launcher is played out, and a bit stale in my opinion.

If that whats people wanted they would play the aforementioned games. i think that you do need quick fast paced action, with a mix of tactics and planning, rather than just everyone charging out with their personal rocket launchers, hopping around like goddamnit rabbits and praying for a lucky shot.

Personally I'm not really wanting to play Huxley for the PvE, though it does sound fresh, and I like the character advancement idea of it incorporated into an FPS. I'm PvP gung ho, and thats where I suspect I will derive most of the pleasure from the game.

I really hope it at least plays at a fast pace as unreal. There hasn't been any word on death penalties. If you die I wonder if you respawn right away or moments later. Or does your armor take dmg and you have to repair it like in wow. I do wonder will you be able to instant kill headshot in the game. I can see some problems with this since alot of people would prolly get owned by the mad cursing 12 year old who does ntohing all day but play this game on top of some building with a sniper rifle. That would suck. If they include the isntant kill headshot aspect it would take away the whole meaning of having moe armor. On the other hand if they take it away it would take away from its fps aspect.

Judging by the videos of Huxley that we have so far, combat will not be quite as fast as Unreal Tournament, the movement speed seems around 30% - 50% slower. I don't think single-shot headshots are possible in this game, either (thank god). I remember seeing that somewhere, like in an interview. Last thing we need is a bunch of noobs making themselves feel better by using a sniper rifle on every rooftop.

Headshots aren't unbalanced in and of themselves. It depends on how games implement them.

The Unreal franchise has always just given you double the damage for a headshot vs a body shot with a sniper rifle, and they've used rate of fire relative to other weapons to balance it out. I would be surprised if Huxley had headshots that would always be a kill, but it wouldn't totally shock me if they did use the historical unreal-style double-damage headshot, and if they balance it right there shouldn't really be a problem. Having people sit in corners sniping has been addressed in a few other threads already; ultimately, it rarely does anything more than give the person a high kill/death ratio (which obviously is totally irrelevant to the objectives in Huxley). But that's a whole other discussion anyways...

Couldn't agree more. I hate games with people just bunny hopping all over the place. I think that they should put the two types of game play together, anyway that just my opinion
