"such as the ability to sprint quickly, to cloak yourself by turning invisible, to double-jump, to tackle enemies with a melee attack, and some unusual skills, such as becoming immune to headshots (highly damaging, direct weapon hits to your character's noggin) and automatically detonating your corpse as a blinding flash grenade when you fall in battle. Therefore, the game will have a strategic element as you swap different skill-infused armor slots into your character's inventory to prepare for different battles in which, depending on the situation, you may need to be stronger, faster, or sneakier than your adversaries."
Dude what is your problem, obviously the text you just posted totally went against you. You just don't get it that those skill slots are not for Stats, they are for SKILLS ( and or new capabilities ). I know people like you don't like to admit things but you might just aswell give it a shot. Calling names isn't what this forum is about, if you want to feel good about yourself go do something usefull in life. -Dynatics, |

i have heard it said that some of the skills will be passive. the immunity to headshots for example. is there really a difference between a passive skill and a 'stat'? its just pedantics.
i just have to say one thing though, i thought it was funny when headshot was hating on peoples names, the first thing i said when i saw TKO HEADSHOT was "what a horrible name, he mind as well call himself GENERIC FPS NAME" |

smoke nades?
grenade launcher attachment for assault rifle? smoke launcher attachment for assault rifle? scope attachments for assault rilfe, max 2 times zoom? silencer? placeable beacon for detecting enemies in an area?(think bf2, UAV only its placed on the ground) control over/use of surveilance satellites? Setup mg, (MG42, SAW type weapons) placeable automated turrets? placeble cover? kinda like trench digging or an MG nest type of cover, w/e ill think of more later. These are just ideas of course. |

That would be really cool if a certain class could throw down little sandbags or something to use as temporary cover. That would be awesome.
And maybe some classes can build trenches or bunkers in certain areas (it would probably be impossible to let this happen anywhere in the battlefield, but maybe they could do it in designated spots). |

More yes places than not, I see people putting up fortifications where they are needed (and some built by n00bs randomly who don't know wtf to do). But in real warfare you could build fortifications anywhere anytime, just took awhile. Maybe a vehicle or robot you can buy that does it in a shorter amount of time than just a few people doing it, or maybe being able to work together to build 1 huge thing? That'd be sweet.
"Alpha Squad, deploy fortifications on that ridge!"

Oh man that would be amazing. I would love if you could just straight up build bunkers and little defense positions anywhere on the battlefields. The only reason I think it would be unlikely is because maybe the game can't handle it?
Since certain stuff lags out the game, like if bodies didn't dissapear (btw if bodies stick around for a while, leaving huge heaps of dead bodies everywhere I would f'ing love it) the game can sometimes lag out from all the excess stuff floating around. Hopefully they have a setting or something so if your computer is good enough you can make it so the bodies, bullet holes, missle craters and all that stuff stays around during battle. That would make a really cool support class, or little side tree or something. The ability to set up certain things. Maybe at first you can only set up a few sandbags that only protect you from machinegun fire and you have to stay prone behind it to get good cover out of it. But then you can get more so you can make bigger and better stuff. I'm probably dreaming and I really don't want to get my hopes up. But wow that would be amazing |

True, it is going to be fast, I just like to take my time and set strategic stuff up every now and then. So it would be nice if they had just a little something like that.
How about a giant sandbox level where you completely build your own bases and defenses. Like an RTS accept in FPS mode!!! Then after 20 min. of setting up everyone goes and attacks/defends! lol that would be great. |

My opinion is that yes, their should be fortifications, but they should go away after a while(unless maintained), so that the battlefield does not get cluttered by n00bs. And then, maybe their could be ways to fortify a captured structure, like lets say the sapiens capture a factory from the alternatives, than the sapien would fortify the factory for an expected counter attack.

that would be really cool. just make it so you have to continually maintain it to keep it useful. thats a perfect fix to keep the lag down, and to keep the map uncluttered.
And I'm not talking about things that would stop the entire game and force them into a stalemate (thought I wouldn't be against that, soemthing about long battles like trench warefare seems cool to me :D ) just little things to help out |

Yay, one of my ideas is a good one. If they make fortifications, I hope that they put in the maintanence system, so at least one of my ideas get into the game.

It would be like C&C3 when yu can get a squad to of rifleman to make sandbags
. but maybe a combo move to mak cover than doesn't have to be maintained of all three classes the eforcer will get a big peice of rubble from the house and put it on cliff. then 3 avenger place sandbag fortifaction and put 3 chain guns on the rubble and make a big sand bag plance and make a mountable rl . then they make a sandbag tower maybe like 7 feet tall. the phantoms go into te sandbag tower and shoot and the avengers do there thing and the enforcer will use the mountable rl. so then you have yur own homade three class combo move |

that would be awesome. I think we all have our heads in the clouds though lol. If the game is going to focus on gameplay like UT and Quake then it won't have stuff like that.
I can only hope that since they plan to add some more strategy in there, they'll have some creative stuff to add to the game. Like building little spots for cover :D |
