Sorry but there's simply no doubt about it - the mouse is THE control method for any FPS, the gamepad simply cannot compare.
Using a mouse allows the user to aim instantly anywhere on the screen and also to do an instant 90 degree / 180 degree etc. turn - this is not possible on a gamepad - it takes a small amount of time for the view to move.
Against a good player that small amount of time is going to see you hit before you can match their move and it's gonna happen again and again until the gampead user is dead and the mouser is probably unharmed.
Put a skilled gamepad user and a skilled mouser together in a fight and the mouser is going to literally run circles around the gamepadder.
This is no slight againt 360 owners and no claim that they have less skill, simply that they are handicapped by the control method - it'd be like entering a formula one race in a rally car. It's a great car but it's just not suited for that job.
Unless the mouse / kb combo becomes widely available and used by 360 owners then they should be kept on separate servers otherwise the 360 owner will be quickly demoralised by the pc crowd.
Also there are loads of PC gamers out there that have been playing nothing but FPS games for years - these guys are going to slaughter new players (especially console owners) this could be a real problem for the game overall putting off people trying their first FPS etc.
p.s. are we gonna be able to rocket jump in this game ? :-)
