I think an interesting idea would be rather than buying ammo (which is the most likely scenario I would assume) is having ammo pickups in the environment/instances like in a Quake/Unreal setting that perhaps have respawn times of whatever it may be. Or better yet, both, so one is not completely dependant on blowing a fat wad for 4 different types of ammo but is able to have a bit of sustinence from the enviroment.
